Wonder how much Luke is going to get Swaggy P paid this offseason. He's truly a wizard.

Didn't realize Kobe was quite this big of a negative.

Kobe/Byron was worth like negative 20 wins

Kind of like how people thought Kerr was good when he just happened to be the next coach after Mark Jackson.

Was last year Kobe the least valuable player in NBA history?

Guy fired 22 shots/36 and hit them at a 35% clip. .469 TS. While playing WOAT defense and stuff.

32.2 usage and negative win shares!

That's certainly one way of looking at it

Another way would be that without him they woulda been slightly better, while playing more young guys giving the worst coach of all time an excuse to get another season while getting a worse pick. The MAMBA said not so fast my friends and took matters into his own hands getting the Lakers the best player in the draft and a top 3 itl.

MAMBA

Mamba's parting gift was a gangly small forward with a 7'5" wingspan, nice.

Flow I see him as more Kawhi than Durant, meaning he's pretty decent now just because he doesn't try to do to much... I could see him being a positive player as early as this season then slowly building his offensive skill set. Don't think he ever sniffs Durant on offense but I think he will be more of an elite 3+D guy with a few more tricks in his offensive arsenal.

On top of all that he ensured attendance didn't drop off and that fans didn't complain about the losing cos everyone was slurping his farewell tour.

Was one of the most valuable assets in the NBA last year

i assume most of us have heard the (maybe false) stat that 1/6 7 footers in the US are pro basketball players.

i used to use it to justify a belief that if you took my (~6ft) body and made it 7ft id make it to the NBA since a big chunk of 7 footers are absurdly unathletic, and i'd be really motivated to succeed.

watching embiid and gasol from 3 this year, and my new num is 7ft2, in socks.

devin booker already looks like he's going to be pretty studly offensively, not much he can't do. i'm especially impressed by how he looks in both iso and pnr spots. for a 20yo he's looking ridiculous, v rare to see a sg look this good this young

only downside is that he's a real gunner without amazing ability to get to the rim yet, and it means that he takes too many contested 2s and doesn't pass as much as he should. still, i think his speed/quickness is a pleasant surprise for me so i could see him improving there

pretty trash defensively tho, and lacks good tools on that end too

yeah, i agree with all of this. When he first started getting buzz last year I thought he was just a shooter but watching him he's really great in the pick and roll.

And I don't see anyway he becomes a good defender but that's alright. Get buckets.

Booker reminds me so much of young Kobe

Bogut and Wes could really help some teams.

Although not sure how much people are willing to give to contend in a Warriors/Cavs world.
Wes could only help a team if that team is trying to tank. I was hoping for a bounce back year from him, but he's been awful. It's hard to hate him because of how hard he tries, and he is good at D, but I don't think anyone is wanting to take on his contract at this time. But I agree that we should unload him if someone is willing to give us anything in return. We need to play Justin Anderson more anyways.

I would be interested to see what we could get for Bogut. I'm assuming not much, but he looked really good last night so maybe I'm wrong.

Triple H backcourt quietly averaging 62 ppg. no big deal.

Are you guys still enjoying the NBA product? I was looking at some statistics. In 2015-2016 only 7 guys avg. over 35 minutes a game with the highest person avg. 38 minutes. In 1996 you had over 60 guys over 35 minutes a game with 8 guys avg. over 40 minutes a game.

It seems the NBA doesn't understand that it is a league built on stars, and if those stars aren't playing with more and more blowouts people are going to stop watching, and going to the games. We see it now with the NFL. It's only a matter of time before this watered down product gets even worse.
11-07-2016 , 10:34 PM
They're not playing less minutes because the product is watered down. It's actually the opposite.
11-07-2016 , 10:43 PM
It seems like there are more blowouts than normal. I had season tickets for a long time and I gave them up because every other game was a blowout, and guys missing every other game. Gave up the NBA package, because 28 year old guys in the prime of their lives are sitting out 4 games into the season to rest. There are guys at the YMCA Men's League who are playing more minutes a night than these guys. Did defense get better? Is that why there are more blowouts?

I was just curious if you guys are still enjoying what they are putting out there every night. I just can't get into anymore, unfortunately.

The season is definitely too long. Everyone accepts that.
