Must be tough to try and get value for all of Hinkie's failed drafting mistakes.

jah is likely also getting moved, fact is embiid+richuan > jah or noel, colangelo has to puke the assets tho now that he waited too long

I think Anderson has legit potential. I can easily see him being a starter in the league. He was really good at the end of last year and looked great in summer league. Then Carlisle just refused to play him this year (I've heard there were locker room issues, but not sure if locker room issues caused him not to play or if him not playing caused the locker room issues).

But I still love the trade obviously.

What else could they do? He didn't wanna be there and he is a pending RFA. Seems like his market was not exactly robust right now. If you're gonna criticize Phi for anything then I think it is not moving him earlier when he had a lot more value.

Seems like they just screwed themselves by waiting too long.
yeah, and they had a hand in driving his value down. not like there just happened to be no market for him

@WindhorstESPN
Pacers involved in talks with teams potentially to clear roster spots, sources say. Teams suspect might be related to Celtics talks

Pacers looking to trade to clear roster spots.

Looks like Paul George trade may be real.

Let's goooo

I would be happy if they gave up Jah for some 2nd rounders, but all indications are that they're asking for much more.

Holy crap the philly deal way worse. Conditional protected 1-18 1st if not philly gets mavs 2nd round pick for this year and next year. Lol.

Wow.

George: 18.6 PER, 57% TS%, 9.7 TRB%, 15.5 AST%, 12.7 TOV%, 28.1 USG%

Hayward has over double the winshares, a higher VORP, higher RPM. He's is more efficient, he creates better for his teammates while turning it over less, has defended better, etc. I can see how a combination of Hayward being in a small market/being WHITE, and George being a little overrated by a few awesome playoff runs might cause some doubt, but when you look at it more closely, you see it isn't super close.

edit: ohhhh he's not younger lol. my bad, thought George was born in '89 for some reason.

No, it most definitely is not a true statement.

Half of it is debatable, the other other half is clearly false.

the trader term i like to use here is "puke", which is basically when you have no choice but to make your trade and get out and take whatevers best on the table

either now or during the draft, it seems like colangelo is gonna puke Jah. whatever that deal is will look silly compared to what we think the Pelicans offer was 10 days ago

Also geoffras I agree with a lot of your long posts I just think their equity is much better if they wait for Bron to get a bit older. They still have enough young assets + Brad as to where finding ways to replace/improve after Horford is done is very doable.
Always gonna be a Bron though.

No Bron, no game.

If you can be a top 3-4 team itl that would have a 3-4 yr window as that team then I think you have to do it.

And who knows what would come after that, could deal Horford and have max cap room to sign Hayward while IT/AB are still underpaid I believe.
02-23-2017 , 02:20 PM
The confusing part is that Hayward is older than George by like 40 days.

Maaan, I've been a big defender of Noel when people were loling at him earlier in the season and I have to say this is just baaad from the sixers. The timing and price is horrible. Noel is young and really good at basketball. Way to **** up Hinkie goating

63.4% TS, 21 PER and 4.4 stocks per 36 this year.
02-23-2017 , 02:20 PM
AL Jeff likely one to be moved. Guys like Stuckey, cj Miles etc too. Pacers have a few little assets that have small value if they decide to blow it up

I think sometimes it's more about how the other teams value a guy. He wasn't staying on Phi, he didn't want to stay on Phi and the trade market for him was weak.

You can almost say the other teams are the ones who were stupid for letting Dal steal him.

I have a sneaky feeling both George and Butler will get traded to Boston.

Hayward is no guaranteed to sign in Bos anyway. By all accounts he likes Utah and I'm pretty sure the Jazz can give him the most money.

I wasn't making the argument Celts should wait to get Hayward and not go after George, I was saying they could get Hayward in addition to him if things broke right.

Nerlens Noel 2018 MIP is a lock

teams i'm surprised didn't want to bring a better offer:

- lakers
- suns
- blazers

Philly already owns the Lakers pick unless it's top 3
