Hold firm, build around PG and Turner in the offseason and if you still think PG is bailing when the 2018 deadline rolls around then you can move him then.
The reason there isnt a clear #1 is because there are 2 #1 caliber players, no?

Woj has gone quiet. Waiting for bombs

Wow. If I'm an Indy fan I want them snap taking anything close to this. George is almost 27, LeBron still has 3-4 good years left, and Turner won't hit his prime for a few years.

Possibly even 3. The Nets pick is an elite asset.

Rubio/Rose swap still hot.

I've heard Shabazz and Bjelica as other names in part of it. That Kuzminskis guy too. No idea what's halting it atm

Good for Dallas.

Indy gets this years nets pick. If I'm Indy and this is the celtics final offer, I'm taking it.

Yeah I have it as 3 as well, with Jackson being the third.

Don't like this at all as a pacers fan. I want brown in their instead of that last scrub.

Dallas now working on moving Deron
02-23-2017 , 01:48 PM
Yeah if you're Pacers imo you don't wanna take bigs back. Maybe Mickey since he young but like Rozier/Brown need to be part of deal (at least one)

Not sure why BOS fans are wanting this so bad. You're still a dog to get past LeBron the next 3-4 years and by that time PG is declining and you've lost some of your really good assets.

Better off keeping all the assets (maybe even flip Horford for more) and looking to win in 3-4 years imo.

Basically I think it gets you a little more title equity now as opposed to having a good chunk of it down the road.

Why do you say this? I've never heard this, but its unfathomable as to why he hasn't been playing this year. Other than Carlisle just doesn't like to play young guys who show promise (he actually has a history of this).

I think if you're gonna get George for say Nets pick, then you should really say F it and go all in and get like Drummond for other nets pick/J Brown

Otherwise you're just trying to thread the needle a little too much.

Now if you do all of that, that's a really nice team. Sure Cle/GS is stacked but you would have a young core to compete for the next 3-5 years with guys that have primes which align pretty well.

Saw it from a Mavs insider twitter earlier today

Yeah that analysis would make a lot more sense if the Pacers were like, the 3 seed or something, but there are 4 teams in the East clearly better than them right now and they don't have like a super young core or a stack of draft picks or a eurostash on his way. They are 2 games ahead of 8th place!

Blow it up and rebuild around just Turner>>try to scratch and claw a 50 win team out of PG13

Bos cant keep all their picks due to roster space. At some point they need to move something

Avery bradley went thru only portion of practice due to injury but refusing to talk to media. Maybe he's been told he's likely to be moved?

Huh, I guess that would make sense as to why he isn't playing much after showing alot of promise last year and tearing up summer league. I have been dumbfounded by him not playing all year.
02-23-2017 , 01:54 PM
Think you misunderstood the post completely. I would want them snap taking Nets 1st + anything if I was an Indy fan.

Picking at the #3 and #10 spots this year? Maybe package the #10 and some seconds to move up to #8 or #7 and grab your guy. Repeat as necessary - they have many opportunities to do this because they have five first round picks in the next three years. Just move up over and over and get the guys you want. And as detailed above, most of the second round picks are very early second round picks and thus have some non-zero value in EV terms.
I'm interested to see if these type of deals will happen. Teams in NBA value specific guys and fit much more highly than in NFL where this kind of trade seems to happen all the time. When people move up it's like the kind of trade Fly mentions where they go from like late 20s to early 20s. The value is usually just so stacked in the top 3-5 that it takes The Godfather deal to move into that space. Look how much those Nets picks are valued. They're reluctant to give one up for AllNBA level talent, they're not moving it for any amount of seconds.

This would obviously be a good way to use them, I just can't recall people moving around in the top 10 for just 2nd rounders recently.

Number of NBA Twitter guys have said this about Anderson today fwiw

@ZachLowe_NBA
Sources: If Sixers do not receive Mavs top-18 protected pick this season, it converts to 2 2nd-round picks: Mavs 2nds in 2017 and 2018.

Bleh not a fan of that conversion. 76ers must have been convinced Noel was leaving.
