I guess I don't see how he fills a substantial need. Does a team with Lillard/McCollum need an extra playmaker off the bench? Splurging on a big of similar quality would have made more sense though idk how late into FA they signed Turner

Edit: if Turner ends up getting run with the starters more often he actually might be able to do some damage given who would end up defending him, but idk why the Blazers would do that barring injury

Yeah I don't see how he fills a need either, I just don't think the money involved was a big issue. Just glancing at all the signings, there really wasn't a player that made sense other than Mozgov, who already had someone willing to back up the truck for him.

I guess they didn't really have any great options, so spent for the sake of spending due to lack of opportunity cost. I do kinda of get it.

As dood said, there wasn't really any better options. There was no one available who really moved the needle much from a closing lineup of dame/cj/crabbe/aminu/big.

I guess they could have paid up for a biyombo, but I don't know if the marginal value of biyombo over mason/festus/davis/Leonard is more than the marginal value Turner brings over crabbe/harkless/other wing depth

As I said at the time, Gerald Henderson got 2/18 from Philly or something. He's as good if not better than Turner and played for them last year. Even if you think Turner is better that's certainly a much better contract. So I disagree there weren't other options either.

I didn't like soft KD, I prefer the way he behave on court and on interviews now

Damn I feel like Young has actually played a really solid game. He's defended well, moved the ball much better than he usually does. Obv he's had a few bad shots but, at least as far as he goes, I think he's looked solid tonight.
