"We are the Spurs of the East. Tell 'em Korverbird."

"SQUAAAWK! Team Basketball!"

Cp3 strongly considering the Spurs. Would make things interesting. Essentially 4 super-esque teams.

Warrior-Big 4
Cavs-Big 3 + Thompson
Boston-Young Guns + #1 Picks
Spurs-Kahwi + Cp3 + Aldridge

Still think the there is a gap between the top 2 and bottom 2 but it could be closing as Boston get's old and Spurs adding Cp3. Warriors will be interesting if they can keep their core + keep getting vets on the cheap.
06-02-2017 , 01:39 PM
not a fan of calling everything a super team, CP3 + Kawhi would be nice, but it's not a super team. And obviously neither are the celtics.
06-02-2017 , 01:41 PM
Cavs aren't really super team either but would you prefer high quality team with high upside. Basically 4 teams and the rest of the league; it really might be one superteam, 3 teams who have some outside shot at beating the Warriors due to injury and the rest of the league who has little shot at beating any of the 4 teams.
06-02-2017 , 01:51 PM
Who is the 4th team?
06-02-2017 , 02:01 PM
Boston; they have a young core and number one pick or likely butler or George.
06-02-2017 , 02:10 PM
Kanter thing is getting insane. Tweeted his dad just got arrested and will likely be tortured.

Spurs without CP3 would literally have no bench.
Also, CP3 is such an ******* that I hope he doesn't sign with the Spurs, regardless of how good he is.

Celtics are a super team? Lul
Super mediocre

Is Paul to the Spurs actually feasible? They'd have to get Pau to opt out and he is due 16 milly. Prob have to get rid of Parker too somehow

Spurs underpay and give under-the-table payments all the time.

Pau Gasol will obv opt in.

According to this poundingtherock article they can make room for Paul by getting rid of Gasol, Mills, Green Anderson and Simmons.

Of course, Paul would have no incentive to join a team that has only Leonard, Aldridge, Parker, Bertans and Murray. That's it. Literally no one else. They would have to fill every other roster spot with scrubs.

Also, Paul is getting out of his prime, so he has absolutely no incentive to get any significant pay cut.

CP2 on the spurs? No thanks, I'd prefer to see Kawhi make it to the conference finals again.
06-02-2017 , 04:06 PM
Nothing would hurt Kawhi's chances of reaching the conference finals more than downgrading from Tony Parker to CP3
06-02-2017 , 04:08 PM
As much as I dislike CP3 I think the "never reached the WCF" curse is stupid. The fact he's a complete ******* does not help him getting judge fairly.

It was almost always his supporting's cast fault, not his own (yes, there was that one game where he missed his free throws).

I still hope he does not go to the Spurs.

**** it, roll the dice with Pop/Kawhi/CP3, if at all possible ship LMA somewhere.

Decent article - gl with DLose on the team

Spoiler:
(1) You shouldn't waive Jean-Charles imo. He can be a useful piece, perhaps.

(2) "Moving Aldridge without getting anything back is just not smart."
orly? if that made you space to sign CP3 without gutting the roster ... you could play J-C in that spot

[clarity in light-trolling] I've no idea how you "move LMA without getting anything back" salary-wise, but if you can do that and add CP3 instead (and pay an extra $13m a year - and you don't give a **** about the actual money you spend, only about staying within the salary cap rules) why not?

I mean - we all saw how utterly useless LMA was in the series against GS, right? Jean-Charles can't be any worse than that.

Super team or no, it clearly would be a blatant ring-chasing move. So if he signs with the Spurs, all of 2+2 (except for Spurs slappies) has to go at him super hard, preferably referring to him as a "beta" for a minimum of two years.

Eventually we'll teach these NBA ring chasers not to **** with us.

Do you NBA bro? All the "super-teams" get solid vets for pennies on the dollar nowadays. So you'd rather be.....irrelevant than try to bink with Cp3? While I'm not sure it'll take you over the hump; it's a huge talent upgrade at PG. Otherwise, your strategy is what, wait till you bink another superstar in the draft or try to get a superstar through trade (no assets to trade other than Kawhi) or FA (which is rare)?
