Fair enough, replace embiid with lowry and I think we got it

If you're not going to keep IT and replace him with a 19 year old, you're probably winning 10 less games anyway. Then what? You lose rd 1? Seems pointless.

And when you've got guys like Fultz, Brown, other young players, it isn't like you are the Sixers. You're more like the TWolves. A team of young up and coming guys, you can sell that to fans and I'm sure Brad is on board with that.
This is certainly an exceptional case. There's a strong argument for "rebuilding" imo. And as AI McLove already pointed out, ceiling is way more important than floor due to the Ricky Bobby principle. But this just destroys the C's floor and goes way too far. Way too far.

You calling the guy who got an eversion sprain of his ankle, went to the locker room and then ran away from the trainers on one leg to re-enter the game a p***y?

nothing wrong with it imo. nba is an entertainment product, placating the media is a worthwhile move. it mostly only matters for players who are already mega rich anyway

let the fans vote then (this would be lol too obv)

Third team seems so mediocre aren't there better players than derozan and Jordan

afaik fans do (did?) have some ability to influence contract value already via allstar selections (rose rule)

minor influence like that isn't too bad

reminds me of the time lowry ran away from a game with 3 min left in the half to "clear his head" in the locker room. not sure i've ever seen anyone do that, but craptors last 3 years playoff regressions are also unprecedented, so we're just in a golden era i guess.

Dumb Q but if CP3 isn't all-NBA then why is he eligible for the super max but George/Hayward aren't?
05-19-2017 , 03:48 PM
@KC/other-Boston-slappies:

Knicks forums are rife with ebolaids ideas for trading KP to the Celts for the #1 with collateral stuff to make weight depending on viewpoint.

Setting aside how badly Ainge would gape Jackson in a real life negotiation, (a) is KP something Celts would desire? (b) if so what would be 'just value' here?

that's the 10year veteran extension.

He made it the last 2 seasons anyway so he'd have been eligible even if he wasn't a veteran

He had to take a dump. You're searching for things that aren't there. He's one of the toughest players in the NBA and has never shied away from contact
05-19-2017 , 05:13 PM
which is why he gets hurt all the time

also, because he was fat

and now he's old

amazing Broussard quote today "the Warriors always have a big out there...except when they go small"

Hmm this is actually very interesting. New York gets a player with perhaps a similar ceiling, but now they are out of pick hell they can bottom out and begin a proper rebuild. For the Celtics it gives them a little more "win now" and I could see KP being a great fit with Brad/Horford.

Assuming they have a crack at Hayward, I think they could field something that'd have a chance against Cleveland/GSW.

Wow I really like that trade for both sides, moreso for Boston but I think it's preferable for New York as well... I would think a straight up trade works too..

Amazing.

Boston getting Hayward would be awesome. He's so perfect for them. IT/Bradley/Hayward/Crowder/Horford with Fultz as a super 6th man is dope.

Odds are he'll be super rich either way obviously.

Big thing is it probably correlates strongly into investing his money Ina string of failed Lavar businesses down the line

KP for #1 is probably pretty close. I think a gambler says no, but it might be the safer bet.

I do think KP would also be fantastic on Boston, and the fit is definitely better in the short run.

better against GSW, still doesnt help us that much against Lebron. so small.
05-19-2017 , 06:17 PM
Think you're underrating how big Hayward is due to WHITENESS. He's 6'8 with solid core strength. For comparison Jae Crowder is 6'6. Obv not saying he'd be a LeBron stopper but it wouldn't be meaningless either. And it would be a huge upgrade in a vacuum. With Stevens coaching they'd be a 60+ win team next year with that roster imo.
05-19-2017 , 06:30 PM
crowder has sufficient size to guard lebron. celtics problem is moreso that horford, along w/whoever else is out there as a big, is not a sufficient rim deterrent
05-19-2017 , 06:38 PM
Crowder guards Lebron about as well as DeMarre Carroll. Hayward is a much larger upgrade over Crowder than I think is realized. Crowder is a nice player on a phenomenal contract but Hayward is >>>>

I agree with heels that Horford is a bigger issue vs Cleveland tho
05-19-2017 , 06:51 PM
oh, i didn't mean to say crowder is better than hayward overall. hayward is certainly >>, just meant as far as matching up w/lebron defensively goes. he is much bigger than hayward, though they are prob similar in terms of explosiveness

edit: i'm also using the term guard loosely. i mean like, matchup and lebron doesn't automatically get to steamroll to the rim. a lot of these wings are just too small

So that's a vote for trading the #1 for KP - who is an elite rim deterrent - then, it seems.
