one gameday thread seems ideal, accounting for the opinion of those who find it tough to skip through posts. daily/weekly gameday threads are awful, though.

Kawhi is gonna bust out bigtime this year, 20 a game, 5 steals, shut-down D.

Weekly/monthly >>>>>> daily

Once you go beyond the "Daily with Times" like they do for football might as well just go with one big in-game thread, not sure what advantage weekly/monthly bring to the table.
10-26-2014 , 03:40 PM
Exactly
10-26-2014 , 03:51 PM
Well the weekly thread would allow for OP's that hype the match-ups for that week. But you could just do like dids does in the Pac 12 thread, just summarizing each new week in that thread which seems to work just fine although with much less traffic.

I'm for a single game thread for the entire year.

Thakid, plz calm down we're getting what we want (at least on a trial basis) so continuing to asspy itt is only going to turn people to the dark side.

the difference between daily/weekly/yearly game threads is minimal. Almost doesn't matter. They're just places to post "whoa" and "lol knacks" and such. The argument is separating game chatter from TZ or not, and I have zero clue why anyone prefers to keep them together and clutter everything up.

I mean, you you have a group claiming that their experience is worsened by having an extra 150 posts a day to wade through and that they stop posting content during games because it gets lost in the noise. Another group claiming hardship by having to click a different button in order to post lolbyronscott.

One gameday thread is a fine compromise. I'm fine with either a discussion thread / gameday thread, or one megathread. Just as long we don't have daily or weekly gameday threads.

The problem with daily threads is that making a good OP takes a long time, which means a lot of the time no one bothers to make one, and then there's nowhere to talk about the game. It seems like the people whose busy lives are too busy to spend 30 seconds scrolling past the gameday posts, are the ones asking someone else to spend 15 minutes putting together a game thread every day.

Honestly, it seems like there's no real disagreement about the trial gameday TZ.

They're not saying it's a hardship

They just want to get a high post count cus they are losers

If your going to actively move conversations that belong in TZilla from the gameday thread without all the lolbyronscotts then ya

Dunno how hard that is to do tho
Seems way harder than gameday threads

anybody who spends longer than 30 seconds thinking about or seriously arguing about this 'issue' probably needs to re-examine their life priorities.

that said ONE THREAD TO RULE THEM ALL coz nostalgia. or whatever, we shall NBA in either case.
10-26-2014 , 05:12 PM
Yeah I'm ok either way

Yeah, pretty hilarious THAKID is calling people losers and then openly willing to pay people to start threads on a forum. Chill out bro.

For me, it isn't the time it takes to scroll through the gameday posts (tho that is a minor annoyance and is worth mentioning in this discussion) it's more that having it all in one thread means non-game discussion is non-existent during prime time hours, every day, which sucks.

Yep. The worst is when there's a good discussion going, games come on and the people who are posting content have to basically shout over the in-game stuff. Then the discussion inevitably dies.

argument was made last year. encourages in-game posting of a reasonable standard and creates discussions that logically transition into the thread. ymmv but that's the case.

come on, this works both ways. "wade through 150 posts" = click the last page button then scroll to the end of game posting. the question is always content generation, as alluded to above. example that's been used before is the soccer threads, where the discussion is of a reasonable level and a differentiated game thread isn't even a consideration. how many discussions legitimately span multiple days and get interrupted by gameday posting? (as opposed to the discussions that are spurred by game posting, which seem pretty frequent offhand)

seems like popular consensus is behind a single gameday thread, which is fine (lol KID), but the reasons some people prefer a single thread are pretty obvious

let us NBA.

Why not have 2 threads, one for nba discussion and one game thread where all the "lol rudy gay" and "lol jennings" can be posted through the WHOLE regular season ?

JJ Barea cut, supposedly heading to Dallas

Here's something I made, interested to see if rough trends hold this year. Vertical axis is overall team EFG, left to right is low to high in gap between assisted EFG and unassisted EFG.

(yes I know I misspelled it, DGAF atm)

Explain it like I'm 5 please?
