Excellent value at #17 (he looks like a legit lottery caliber player). Fields last year, Shumpert this year.. very nize.

The Knicks are confident in Shumpert's abilities so they aren't falling over themselves to add another guard, looking to get a back-up big instead.

lmao Osis, now THAT'S playing with FIRE.

Re: NBA Season Thread 2011-2012

I can't wait for Rubio to post a line like:

12 points 14 assists 11 rebounds and 10 steals

and then listen to Colin Cowherd's reaction the next day.

Re: NBA Season Thread 2011-2012

I remember bookmarking a thread where 9/10 posters said Rubio wouldn't play a game for Minnesota. Gonna be awesome to see the Twolves fight for a playoff spot this year silencing the Kahn haters itt!

Re: NBA Season Thread 2011-2012

why do people think mark jackson is dumb at basketball? well no actually i know why, b/c of his dumb sayings/commentating. but why do people equate that with basketball IQ/coaching ability?

did everyone forget he was a reallly good point guard(/coach on the floor) for a reallly long time? and played under some great coaches as well

people should be weighing his playing career heavier than his announcing one imo

Isiah Thomas was also a "coach on the floor" and his coaching and GM stint was a disaster.

Re: NBA Season Thread 2011-2012

seems like i see a lot of "jackson's gonna be telling his players 'hand down, man down!' all game" blah blah. like he got the job b/c of his commentating "skills". dont recall much of anything heavily on the positive/optimistic side, w/e tho

maybe it was just the same couple tards posting it many times, a la shrrrrboy.

i think jackson could be a great coach, specifically for curry. they just need to ship monta and tweak a couple other things

Announcing is a lot harder than most people think. You're talking constantly, so you're going to make a mistake every so often or say something "stupid", that's virtually guaranteed. Then while you are talking you have a producer or whatever talking in your ear, directing you to talk about different topics, etc.

Yes, I remember a few people, especially SchererBoy, denigrating him.

thats a playoff lineup imo. only thing holding it back is Marc "mama, there goes that man. hand down, man down." Jackson.
