Haven't we been through most of this stuff before though?

LeBron's game just isn't quite as aesthetically pleasing to the average fan as someone like Bird or Kobe or even Durant/Curry.

And that is just offensively, then add in stuff like every aspect of defense which casual fans don't care about either.

Scottie Pippen also said Kobe > LeBron recently as well.

how is anyone putting Hakeem in their top 5? i have such a hard time with him. He was great, and is top 10ish, but I just don't think he can ever touch the top 5.

6 to like 12 is just a big mess of players that I always waffle on. Hakeem, Bird, Magic, Kobe, Barkley, Wilt, Russel, etc.

I mean you can "Hakeem vs DRob in playoffs" and eye test all you want. Hakeem is obv a stud and it wouldn't shock me if his defense was even better than we realize (though the opposite wouldn't shock me either given the lol 90s), but the main point is any list that has Hakeem over KAJ is a bad list.

It's the same in every sport. "Winners"/media darlings are overrated, GOATs are underrated. Derek Jeter is definitely the most overrated baseball player by casuals. Barry Bonds/Albert Pujols underrated.

The problem with basketball is it's the sport where a player's individual value is the highest. So the takes will always end up being the hottest.
