Curry was undercut on the first Warriors possession after Leonard's injury iirc. There were no replays but that's what I saw.

Should be punished as well.. Using this as an argument is pretty terrible

It's not an argument but an observation, it happens regularly without much comment.

Show me one video of someone stepping into Steph on a fadeaway with their lead leg and we'll talk.

The two are not even remotely close.

I get Spurs fans being salty because I know I would be given that game yesterday. I'd also think about how our bench couldn't hold a 20 point lead and how the Warriors poor first half shooting wasn't sustainable. To solely focus on the Zaza play, just watch Skip Bayless this morning and he's got you've covered.

We should blame Popp for his Spurs and their use of hand-checking 25 years ago while we're at it.
So you don't think Bruce Bowen was a dirty player? Ask Vince Carter about that. Ask the whole NBA really.

Pop is no angel even if he's trying to play 1 on TV now.

I think BB was definitely dirty, that doesn't make Zaza's play any less infuriating. The point I was trying to make is that it wasn't even disciplined back then like it is now, ergo I think Popp certainly has a leg to stand on with his argument.

Which is one more than Kawhi at this point

Like I said above, he's probably a bit mad at himself for not taking Leonard out after he collided with the Spurs bench. Not a surprise he's heated, they are pretty desperate now.

Forget about Spurs fans. The Zaza play was a HUGE blow for casuals, i.e. the majority of fans. The stage was set for this to be one of the best series in the history of the game and now it's completely unwatchable just like almost every other series in this year's playoffs (Bos vs Wsh has been good tho and Spurs-Rockets was fun too).

It's all about Warriors vs Cavs now.

One of the reasons it is disciplined now compared to back then is because one of his players. Maybe he just didn't understand how harmful it could be back then and now he sees the error of his ways? C'mon bro

@ILOVE...that's a great point, that's a big reason for the anger. Because GS is a powerhouse and it looked like they were gonna have to fight for it and it would be awesome. Now? Who knows but SA equity is way, way down since the injury.

I actually find this a bit hilarious given 24 hours ago no one said the Spurs had a shot and some were speculating sweep. It took a half for people to completely change their minds... That's how it goes I guess.

It's almost as if sports can bring unpredictability sometimes?

They were up 23 in the 3rd quarter when Kawhi went down. If people are disappointed he got hurt on a dirty play, it is a reasonable opinion to have.

Never said it wasn't, it's funny because of how fast people are willing to abandon their pre conceived thoughts given a small sample size...

All that is irrelevant. When Spurs had the big lead before Zaza's dirty play, the stage was set for this to be an EPIC "where we're you when 911 happened" series. Now all that is gone becuz of one Georgian psychopath.

I can't imagine how big a homer you have to be to watch the replay and think "normal play, lol salty Spurs fans." Either that or you must just watch/play 0 basketball. Nobody can know someone's intent for sure, but when you close out and make an exerted second effort to slide your foot in the landing area of a guy's injured foot, especially when you have the history Zaza does, it's definitely fair to presume.

They would've gone from being like +800 pre-series to win to +200 if he doesn't get hurt, is that abandoning a pre-conceived thought?

No, it is a result altering probability, which we then collectively digest.

Now they're probably like +1300

So we're talking going from 33% to win to a 7% chance on the injury.

I literally just said if I was a Spurs fan I would be salty but nice reading comprehension. There are plenty of unbiased individuals who think it wasn't intentional and/or dirty.

But of course it goes without saying, me saying "I think it's pretty clear" isn't even close to ironclad proof.
give me a break. i ****ing hate the warriors and it was definitely a dirty play, but GTFO with this nonsense. Draymond has like 5 more dirty plays in his playoff career alone.

Not talking about betting odds, goes without saying they would've moved dramatically had Spurs taken game 1 on the road with Leonard healthy.

But the change in probability is why people think it is going to be a good series/Spurs have an improved chance.

It isn't like they played a quarter and people were saying it and it is an overreaction. The injury massively changed the Spurs equity. Thus the outrage.

It would be really dirty if someone injured Curry.

Not exactly a controversial position.
