It would have made a lot more sense to try to upgrade their defense and the Nene/Capela/Harrell trio of bigs.

I think some of you are just seriously overrating Chris Paul going forward.
People here claim Paul is the greatest pg of all time so they overrate him going backwards and forward.

It's definitely close, but I'd rather have cp3 this year
Lololol

Masai just got promoted and extended by the Raps. They're going to have to give Toronto a boatload to let him walk.

Won't be long before TZGM is a real thing.

Obviously a good move for Houston even if they don't improve upon the current team.

Who knows what else can come after Cp3 and if you don't gamble then GS is owning you anyway. Maybe they get George? Bron? Avery Bradley?

Beats losing to SA in rd 2 for the next 3-4 years.

VPoBS&R sounds cool

I thought I was prepared for some mildly cringeworthy Chris Paul nughugging when opening this thread, but goddamn.

The only way this changes anything is that maybe next year CP3 tries to fight Harden on the court when they get bounced in the second round.

So has there been any talk why CP3 decided on Houston? I figured Baller maybe told him he didn't wanna do the 5/200 and that he wasn't going to be spending over the luxury tax in the coming years. And CP was just over the Clippers for a variety of reasons.

What if he shows decline next year, is Hou still gonna give him 5/205 or whatever?
06-28-2017 , 06:21 PM
Let the Morey/Harden/CP3 hate flow through you.

No idea if true, but if so LOLDOCforever

Also how can he tell the Clipps he is signing with Houston if they don't deal him? Can't you technically not talk to players until July 1st?
06-28-2017 , 06:51 PM
Idk,

I'm willing to say that Harden may have hit a bit of a wall at the end of the year last year due to his ridiculous workload. Just having a guy that can do everything Beverly already does while also being able to be the guy and let Harden rest will improve their post season EV by a decent margin, imo. Also it looks like Morey is probably looking at this as his two stars, so now he can lure potential 3 and d fa's with the MLE etc. They won't be contending in 3+ years anyway as others said so why not try and capitalize on Harden now and be a GS injury away from the Finals.

Not a huge fan of CP3 though so if he fails,

I think if the Clippers want to get serious about this rebuild, they need to punt Deandre off somewhere and trade for Jahlil Okafor, he's only 19 and rolls out of bed getting 20 and 10 and can lead this franchise from out of the wilderness into the light.

Plus, as we've seen with all the talk around the draft, everyone loves a guy who was a proven WINNER at the college level. It almost makes too much sense!

I'm sure Philly will ship you Jahlil for whatever. Lol at him leading Clippers to the light though.

He can't rebound great for his size, he plays almost exclusively in the paint and plays little D. There's a reason why the Sixers won't even play him and have essentially given up on him after averaging 20/10 his rookie year and getting on the all rookie 1st squad (albeit on a stacked team--KAT/Porzingus/Jokic/Booker.

Whenever I've seen guys coaching their sons they are ALWAYS harder on their kids than the others because they are so conscious of showing favoritism. Except Doc. At the NBA level. LOL DOC.

I'm a Sixers fan, I guess need to be more obvious with my facetiousness. I need him gone.

When you have the opportunity to coach and make your replacement level son more important than your future HOF PG, you just gotta take it.

And Oak would be great for the tank+be kind of fun watching him develop. He's not drawing dead to be a useful player as well.

I'd totally do it if I were the like 5 teams in the league. Don't you think he has some value though?
