I've said all along Phil/triangle isn't suited for the OKC roster, but if Durant can go to work on July 1st he can grasp it.
yup. phil's triangle relies on a post-presence - mj, shaq, pau, kobe. lol okc in that department. probably the first thing that popped into phil's mind when the thought of coaching okc occured to him.

Re: NBA Offseason Thread 2012

Durant is long and with some off season work can bulk a bit, I do not see him waiting 8 years to learn a post game either.

even beyond the (lack of) post presence for the triangle thing, the rwb/pg spot doesnt seem to fit either. traditionally phils pgs have been spot up shooters/defenders, low usg types.

Re: NBA Offseason Thread 2012

so how bad is Hasheem Thabeet? is he going to sign for the min somewhere? seems like taking a flyer on him and Oden would be a good idea for the Heat. obviously if Oden can play he's A+, and then you can trot out Thabeet to play D vs teams with Centers, while playing the Bosh-James-Battier-Wade-Chalmers lineup vs everyone but the Bynums and Howards of the world.

DOODLE JUMP! DOODLE JUMP!

GIVE IT TO ME AGAIN!

OKLAHOMA IS KNOWN FOR TORNADOES THAT BLOW EVERYTHING AROUND. MIAMI IS KNOWN FOR WOMEN WHO DO THAT!

Oh and I'm thinkin' Amare convinces Nash to sign with NY. Amare/Melo/Novak/Lin/Nash lineup
LOL, who would play defense? Games would be 140-120 the other team.
Not that line-up for the entire game of course ERGO.

According to Mitch Lawrence from nydailynews.com:

Quote:
Jason Terry, O.J. Mayo and Ray Allen top the Knicks’ free-agent wish list for shooting guards. Allen wants a big offer, of course, but he’ll also favor the team that shows him the most love when it comes knocking on his door on July 1. Looks like the Knicks, who don’t have a lot of money to offer Allen, will have to out wine-and-dine the Bulls and Heat.
Since the Knicks have Lin's and Novak's Early Bird Rights, couldn't they offer Ray Allen the entire MLE?

I'm guessing he still fetches what $8-9 million a year on the open market?

Ray Allen + Novak + Melo .. ridiculous floor spacing.

According to IamaGM.com, the Houston Rockets are considering going after Roy Hibbert when free agency starts July 1. Houston is also looking at Omer Asik if Hibbert decides to sign elsewhere. This can't be good news for the Pacers with two reported teams (Dallas and Houston) ready to pursue Hibbert in free agency. This creates a pair of problems with the Pacers possibly losing Hibbert or being forced to pay max dollars to keep him.
http://www.indycornrows.com/2012/6/2...-max-offer-for

Houston also wants to trade Dalembert. He makes 6.7mm this year, but can be bought out before july 8th for 1.5mm. So if a team has a salary that matches, that they'd like to dump, this is a good chance. (has to be a decent player that houston wants obv. they'll also pkg a first rounder i guess)

The Charlotte Bobcats’ new database scouting system has over 50,000 web pages.

You can instantly look up year-by-year statistics for Boston Celtics great Bill Russell … or any other player in NBA history. You can check the injury archive of a Slovenian playing in the Spanish league or whether a forward in the Development League was ever busted for drugs.

This is Charlotte Bobcats general manager Rich Cho’s baby, an Internet-friendly system that took six months and a six-figure cost to develop. Now it evolves daily and gets put to the test in Thursday night’s NBA draft, when the Bobcats select second and 31st following a 7-59 season.

Pretty sure every NBA team does something like this. They're just trying to boost up this new guy to give hope to Charlotte imo.

sounds good but imo is a total bag of smoke. cho's decisions were shaky at best and likely not guided by savvy analytics. He is likely fraudulent and a charlatan, and I expect charlotte to be completely terrible for a long time to come.
