Ha, I remember him from playing at Michigan St. for a year before bouncing back to Europe. He was actually part of a slew of early defectors that probably kept Sparty from being even bigger players than they were in their post title (2000) years. Jason Richardson and Zach Randolph were the most prominent of those who left early (after 2001), but you also had Lorbek (after 2003) who was a good rotational big in his one (freshman) year there and Marcus Taylor (after 2002) who won B10 POY as a sophomore and left early only to get drafted like 52nd or something and crashed out of the league in no time at all.

Sparty fans weren't used to so many early entries year after year and were just furious by the time Lorbek left. Cost of being an elite NCAA program imo. Blast from the past right here.

Rumblings of Gasol for Zbo swap. Would be pretty cool for both teams imo, watching the bros play together for a couple of years would be neat. LA probably doesn't deserve someone as awesome as Zbo tho

I don't think LA does that because of ZBo's contract. The primary reason for trading Pau Gasol is to get out of his last year, and adding ZBo would only make that worse.

I agree its unlikely, but Z's contract while a year long is smaller year to year which may give them a tiny bit more flexability than Gasol's deal. Zbo also a year younger and almost certainly a better fit next to Bynum. won't happen tho, you're right

tbh if we can get 2 top ten picks, say 7 & 5 for all our pieces it's not a huge loss in this draft if Morey GOATs it up. Unfortunately we will suck for a while, but better than being the 8th or 9th best team in the West like every ****ing year

i guess it depends what we mean by "all our pieces". like, i don't know how i feel about dumping 3 picks and two good starters (especially if one is Lowry) just for two high picks, unless we can get an elite guy like MKG with at least one of them. If we were somehow able to keep Lowry, move Martin and Scola, and get, like, MKG and Drummond, I'd be very happy with that.
