Rolo for Rose is what I'm hearing and Justin Holiday also part of it. Wow

The Bulls are sending Derrick Rose, Justin Holiday and a 2017 2nd-round pick for Robin Lopez, Jerian Grant and Jose Calderon, per source.

JTM's example didn't include the vets on Minnesota, it was a comparison of each team's babies.

Denver's vets are much younger than Minny's vets so it wasn't a fair comparison. I think you do have to factor them in though since they can still play and are all on good contracts, which is why I included them in the latter portion of the post. But it wouldn't be fair to compare them to say Pek since Niko doesn't figure to be in any plans for the teams. That's a big portion of my argument though, Denver has the youth and vets on value contracts that aren't old, which is something Minny is lacking at this point.

Sigh. First time jumping on this band wagon and it makes me sad but truely appears Phil Jackson is now a negative for an NBA franchise.

I hope for his sake Rose plays well but damn.

GOAT though! At least now I can focus on the Bucks until next May, then it's back to Lebron and Dirk.

This seems like a good trade for both teams no? NYK is rebuilding and doesn't have a need for ROLO's contract, now they become players in the 2017 FA season with a potentially high lottery pick (no longer in the red), Staps, and possibly Melo although I think he should be traded.

This is a good thing for NYK imo, they just need to wait and year and probably should have to begin with.

It could be a nice sneak-tank like LAL did a few years ago, grabbing players who have high visibility but secretly suck. Or it could be just that Phil thinks they can win with that roster in which case LOL. I think we'll know much more about his plans as soon as the Afflalo situation plays out.

AAA opted out I thought?

Lol Jackson. Lol Knicks. Lol Rose. Poor STAPS.

They don't have a Towns though, which is really the only thing that matters. Jokic has great advanced stats but he averaged under 22 MPG compared to Towns' 32 MPG and he's 9 months older than Towns. They aren't really close as prospects.

So Denis and Staps have been freed. Nice that's nice.

Hearing ATL looking to move 12 + 21 picks to open up cap to sign Horford and Bazemore.

pretty nice spin on it. i guess since Rose comes off the books this offseason, getting rid of Calderon/Rolo is pretty huge. Staps/Melo will basically be only guys on the books after this year. flexibility is definitely a good thing.

I can't disagree with any of this. Like I said I'm higher on the other 14 guys, but more importantly I'm higher on the flexibility of their assets. Also on their GM, who has quietly crushed every move after sucking dix in his first month.

+ if they can move Melo for something, they have Staps + high pick + all the cap space in the world, and next year's free agent market is going to be sick assuming KD/Bron sign 1+1's, which is all but certain for KD imo.

But I can see your trepidation since Phil might be thinking Rose coming in is for talent, in which case ugh that's terrible. I really think how they handle Afflalo will be the telling sign of what his motives are.

[edit] Now that I have no use rooting against NYK, I really hope they trade Melo and completely bottom out this year. Next year's draft is supposed to be sick, and to have all that room plus a young stud, coupled with their geography, they could become contenders pretty quickly.

Whats wrong with this for NYK?
06-22-2016 , 03:41 PM
Well, since Chris Broussard loves the deal from the Knicks' end, it MUST be good.
06-22-2016 , 03:41 PM
I think Grant will be a good player too. Like that pickup for Bulls.

Hearing Joakim very likely to land with Knicks as well
06-22-2016 , 03:41 PM
If the expectation is that Rose will be waived/not a real part of their plan it's good. Rose has been terrible since the injury. He's a negative player now for a starter.

would be sick for the Pistons. Horford's family lives in the state, would partner well with Drummond and set the team up as a contender for several years

Kinda not sure what Chicago is doing.

Is this step 1 in blowing it up or are they just finding a way to unload DLose? Are they trading Butler and getting a PG back?
