How many power forwards can give you 6 assists per game? While playing DPOY level defense? Or make Wally Szczerbiak into an all star? Sam Cassell's one all-star season was the one year he played with KG at age 35. Great player. Too bad his prime was wasted.

There's no question that KG's statistical peak was higher than Duncan's, but that's not the same as saying he had a higher peak level of play

Garnett def a more versatile player though

Right this, if we're gonna go with wild single year statistical outliers then TMac would be in the discussion as well.

KG was amazing I don't wanna feel like I'm taking anything away from him. Hated him and Pierce on those Celtics teams and I mean that in the best possible way.

Got a bunch of data from bball ref, nylon calc, etc., cleaned it, merged it together, and just did some exploratory analyses. Can go any direction from here. If you're really into this stuff, kaggle is pretty cool. They have data sci competitions. This one is over, but here's an example: https://www.kaggle.com/c/kobe-bryant-shot-selection

It's great practice and I've learned a lot of feature engineering stuff I wouldn't have otherwise.

Ha, thanks Seth. Is there any stuff that isn't generally available for download on the site?

And, yes I know about Kaggle. I work as a data scientist so I have plenty of opportunities to do this sorta thing. The thing about Kaggle is that it's all about doing everything you can to minimize test error at the expense of all else, but real world data science is usually not like that. Can be a good learning tool though. Or resume builder.
