ok it seems like the Wolves want players rather than to flat out rebuild?

If that is the case that helps Chicago/GS.

I'd be in for draft
06-18-2014 , 07:29 PM
im alwaus up for a draft
06-18-2014 , 10:01 PM
So are the Lakers straight up not going to hire a coach before the draft?

if people are wondering why i give kevin ollie limited credit for uconn shipping, it's bc of this guy:

Quote:
Connecticut's magical run to the NCAA Championship becomes a bit less surprising when you look at what their lead guard, Shabazz Napier, was able to accomplish on paper. Operating in the half court as often as all but 3 players on this list, Napier ranked 3rd among his peers scoring .99 points per half court possession.

That in it of itself is fairly impressive, but the manner in which Napier scored those points is what really stands out. 54.2% of Napier's possessions came either in isolation or pick and roll situations. Ranking among the top-5 players in points per-possession in both situations, Napier thrived under the pressure of having to make things happen on his own last season, while also ranking as an above average distributor. Some 73% of Napier's shots in the half court were jump shots, of which he made 41.2%. Both of those numbers rank as the highest percentages of any point guard in this draft. Napier was especially prolific with his pull-up jump shot, as he made memorable jumper after memorable jumper off the bounce from all over the floor in March finishing the year scoring a top-ranked .986 points per pull-up jump shot.

To put into perspective just how dynamic Napier was in the tournament, the percentage of his possessions coming from isolations and pick and rolls rose to 57.2% while he made 46.3% of his pull-up jump shots, many of which came in one-on-one situations where Napier simply measured his defender, waited for daylight, and fired.

I don't remember Bill doing much of this, but in his Finals mailbag he seems like he's breaking actual reporting about the Love trade market, claiming Boston is in the lead, etc. Does he have a connect with the Boston front office?

yeah he has a lot of sources nowadays, especially with the Boston teams.

Knew the Moss trade ahead of time I remember...

He's talked about it on his podcast that he has legit sources now

Also back in the day he broke the news (like his name on the scroll) that ... I think it was Gary Payton signing w/ the Celts and blogged later how nerve wracking it was actually breaking news for the first time and having his name on it

LeBatard frequently talks about how Stephen A Smith was uber nervous being the first to break the news of the Big 3 to Miami, I think he's said he tried to recant it later too

They're just nervous something is gonna go wrong and then you're gonna look like Rob Lowe telling everyone Peyton was retiring

Well his version there is directly contradicting whoever it was yesterday who said CHI/GSW/DEN were in the lead and Minny wants players who can contribute immediately.

Is this guy from the Boston Herald credible?

Sources: in addition to Wilson Chandler and Kenneth Faried, Denver offering Minnesota a player they would acquire (Arron Afflalo) for Love.

Note: Denver's pick (No. 11) NOT included in what I've heard Minnesota can get. Tweets attributing that to me are incorrect.
Speculation is that Orlando takes a lottery protected 2015 + Fournier for AAA, Denver sends Chandler, Faried and Orlando sends AAA, Denver gets Love.

Salaries don't match so I think Denver has to send more out, but why the **** would flip do this? Must want to win 45 games with no ceiling. I can see it from Denver's perspective, but I'm not sure I'd like rooting for Love.

Love. Do not want.
06-19-2014 , 11:04 AM
Simmons like dean is wanting hard in trying to convince people bostons offer is anything other than crap
06-19-2014 , 11:07 AM
Smart refusing to work out for Utah. Would make sense he has a guarentee from Boston or Lakers? Way better fit for Lakers
06-19-2014 , 11:08 AM
They also just drafted Trey Burke and he probably doesn't want to live in ****ing Utah, although he put up with Stillwater so who knows.

it's not wanting, it's that everybody else is offering crap and boston's could be the best by default.

i'm starting to think somebody will prob step up and offer a non-AIDS package but ya never know.
06-19-2014 , 11:09 AM
Get a ****ing GRIP. love seeing the media treated as worthless kunts. (because they are)

Talking about Pat Riley presser aorn
06-19-2014 , 11:11 AM
He's speaking directly to Lairbrawn as well
06-19-2014 , 11:13 AM
Surprised that lolgms are correctly realizing that Love is both a fraud and a cancer and nobody wants him. Someone will eventually bite though. Gms ghana gm.
06-19-2014 , 11:18 AM
Love is gonna get a huge deal. Minny is emotionally attached to him and owners/GMs love them some white rebounders.

AKA teams won't offer more than 70-75% value

Color me shocked

This is what happens for pretty much everyone guys, why do you guys get duped nearly every time?
06-19-2014 , 11:57 AM
more like they won't offer > 40% value. none of the packages discussed are good at all
06-19-2014 , 11:58 AM
Again, that's really just a recent thing, most of these unhappy star trades end up being huge overpays. Somebody will come up with a dumb deal. Trading for established stars sells season ticket packages.

The only mitigating factor here is that Flip coming back to coach might counterdumb the GM dumbness because he'll want veterans who can play immediately and are easier to coach rather than, e.g., a 2018 draft pick.
