Re: NBA Modern Day Dynasty "Draft"(different than usual)

Next 3 picks should be Dirk, Melo, Horford in that order.

The point isn't "you always take the young guy". The point is that in the 1st round of a dynasty draft, if there's someone available who might be good enough to actually win you something at some point of their career, you take them over the guy who gives your team a ceiling of "get lucky and make the 2nd round of the playoffs" even if you're really sure the other guy's gonna give you Top 20 production for 4 years or so.
you think blake has a 10% chance of being a top 5 player next year? and dirk 30???

and my point is, id rather have the best team in a vacuum, not have the highest ceiling when you 2 out blake figuring out how to play defense and shoot.

Re: NBA Modern Day Dynasty "Draft"(different than usual)

am i the only one who thinks pau and dirk have pretty similar value here?

pau is 2 years younger and figures to age well. he had a rough year sharing the court with bynum, but he'd prob beast if you stuck him back at C again. dirk has enough of a short term edge to more than make up for the age gap, but overall it's closer than people are giving credit for imo.

what if everyone who voted for the winner likes another guy better than the 2nd-place finisher?

if we didn't auto-ship deron there's a non-zero chance he woulda slid another slot or two, but overall i don't think it's a bad strat. this is going to take a long while to complete and if we need to sacrifice a very small amount of efficiency in order to save a full day of voting, i think that's a good trade off.

btw voting for this round ends at 8 PM, just a shade over 4 hours away and we have a pretty close race.

so is assani just refusing to partake bc this isnt on ppp? this is practically the same thing as it was there (4-6 contributing the most) except its running smoother and on better software and also more available for more ppl to chime in randomly/vote. not sure why he thought it would be better on another site this has been pretty great and seems exactly what he intended it for

asking why Assani does anything is a pretty futile endeavor

assani is like a dog that chases cars. when the red sports car drives by, it's focused completely on catching the red sports car. it's very committed to catching the red sports car. it puts all of its time and energy into catching that red sports car... until the blue truck drives by. then, it goes after the blue truck.

Nope, I do too. Pau is not that far behind Dirk in value overall, and the age diff makes up for that. Still I don't see how I could go anywhere but Horford with this pick. Dirk is elite, but he's also not the easiest guy to build around. The odds of snagging Tyson by the next round are pretty bad, so might as well go with a player who has plenty of time left and can fit in any system.
