NBA has tried to protect/favor the Lakers, they go ahead and pick skinny **** Ingram but last years draft sucked, pick Deangelo who SUCKS, and will likely pick another cat who SUCKKKs.

Seems pretty bad for Philly. But i guess if they miss out on both Fultz and Ball, they get to draft Jackson. Maybe it's kind of an awesome trade.

Seems like **** for **** trade; guess it could work. Isn't Covington the best asset of the players given? Don't Sixers need a player like Covington?

Mozgov won't play unless they know Embiid remains hurt cause of Holmes and DENG is OLLLLD.

Covington has 1 year left before UFA, sending him to Lakers allows a 1 year cushion before Paul George comes to town.

Sixers would be taking Josh Jackson.

Taking Mozgov or Deng is purely to eat a contract to help out the Lakers, and in return they get DAR who could be way better in a different situation.

Philly's lineup would be something like

1: DAR / Simmons / TJ

3: JJ / Simmons
4: JJ / Simmons / Saric
5: Embiid / Holmes

Simmons can't play PG on D though. I'd much rather have a PG that wasn't ball dominant and can shoot to play with Simmons much like Bron/Kyrie where both guys have great handle but Simmons wouldn't be PG 100% of the time when he was on court.

Have a super long team capable of switching at will. Think only getting 1 pick opens up the door for them offering Lowry a bunch of money but if they don't I'd be fine with Bayless or some other floor spacing, secondary ball handler type guarding 1s.

Meanwhile, DAR is 21 (!!). If Lakers don't think he can play the 2guard with Lonzo, he needs to be sought after. Could be a vast improvement on a different team.

I just don't think you need to continue with the process with TJ or Bayless as your point guard. RoCo is gone soon, Okafor is basically gone. I would throw the kitchen sink at getting the Lakers to punt DAR. Throw in Luwawu or Stauskas to absord the lakers' 2 guard depth if you have to.

Isn't Ball the only ball dominant PG in the draft? I'm not sure if Fox always needs the ball in his hands to be successful. Fox's 3 point % is a concern--25% at the college level doesn't seem great.

I was texting with my friend and this came up. He said that lakers should trade Russell and randle for another lottery pick. I said no team in top ten would trade their pick for those two. He said Mavs would snap accept that trade. I disagree. I'd rather take my chances on a pg falling to 9 and picking them.

I don't think Russell is terrible but I hate randle. So I'd rather gamble on the upside of the 9th pick. But if we pick markannen then I'm going to be pissed.

Am I on the right side of that argument!

The takes in this thread are terrible. The Sixers are taking Josh Jackson. Hinkie is a legend. Stupid people in this thread don't understand his genius.

I wouldn't be surprised if Colangelo does something stupid like trading the Lakers unprotected pick next year for Russell + some marginal asset.

A Deangelo to Philly for Okafor + other assets makes sense. However, Covington is worth way more than that. Covington is the most underrated player in the NBA. It's obvious nobody in this thread watches him.
