On his bad side and taking their minutes away from them. I love Rick but it gets maddening at times. Hopefully he will just learn to live with DSJ's growing pains and mistakes though.
That's possible. They still have Ferrell, Barea, Harris, and Curry.

One of the funnier things i heard about Markannen on a video was:

"he plays defense like hes 6'5, he doesnt defend the rim, he rebounds like a little guard, and he doesnt have much toughness on the inside"

Well at least he can guard 1 through 3

FWIW Saric is +400 and Brogdon -600 now, and Saric wins P + A + R (20.3 vs 17.2) but loses PER/WS/BPM.

Exceptions to that trend will likely become more common as more sharp forms of analysis become more commonplace.

Lonzo is going to win this year bc he's the best player.

I project that Lonzo will have stats - 28mpg, 12ppg, 7.5apg, 5rpg, 58%fg, 39% 3pfg and win ROTY.

no idea why i never looked this up until now, but lonzo's highschool stats are encouraging for his shooting. cliffs are 139/318 on 3s (44%) and 165/205 on fts (80%)

although for some reason only his '12-13 and '15-16 stats are listed: http://www.maxpreps.com/athlete/lonz...ball-stats.htm

Pretty sure those stats are mostly worthless. Look at his game log for his freshman year, for some games it only has FGM and no stats for FGA, yet it still includes those games in his totals. Add up only the games where it has both FGM and FGA and you get a pretty bad shooting %.

Additionally, the stats are self-reported and some are very suspect (for instance there is one game his senior year where every player shot 100%).

Even accepting his senior stats are largely accurate - 36% from 3 is not that great.

This matches the scouting reports I've read - most did not expect his to be a 40%+ 3P shooter in college, and some still discount that a bit as possibly a bit of run hot.

ah ok interesting, lol maxpreps then

yeah i have a bit of skepticism about his shot so i guess i'll keep that position until he starts hitting them in the nba

It's a similar situation to DAR where he wasn't supposed to be a great shooter but then started raining 3's off the dribble in NCAA.

He prob shoots like 35% as a rookie

I didn't want to create a 2019 NBA Draft feat. Rowan Jr. Barrett so I decided to bump this one.
38 points and single handedly beating 20 point favourites team USA u19 in the Fiba Worlds today

You know, other than putting the ball in the hoop a bunch, I didn't find anything particularly show stopping there. I mean he's clean with his moves and seems fairly polished in that sense, but that seems hard to project as a translating to NBA when there wasn't much athleticism or quickness on display. I guess he's 17, but even further my point, who know what he will/will not develop. I don't have a good reference to other 16-17y/o players though to compare to, don't watch em ever.

He seems to be a very good passer and rebounder as well with an excellent feel for the game. His athleticism isn't eye popping, but it seems pretty good still. I don't know how his defense will end up being, having a high BBIQ should help that out though.
