It's really just sad. This guy is paid over twice what the second highest GM is paid. There are no real life comparisons for this sort of incompetence

He's also paid more than Pop. His combination of senile, stupid, and stubborn is unparalleled in the history of humanity.

You forgot arrogant. That's his biggest flaw.

I never mentions looking at BPM to determine the stat. It should be more explanatory.
The first part of that description is what BPM is.

Love Staps, but would be nervous from a value-perspective offering above and beyond.
I guess the Celtics offered #3, a player (Brown?) & another lottery pick tonight they think they can acquire.

& the Knicks have countered with "both Nets picks, Brown and Crowder", which I assume means #3 as the Celtics only have 1 more Nets pick.

I would do Staps for #3 and the Nets pick straight up.

Looking back at previous drafts how many guys would be traded for picks near their current draft slot? Simmons the only one to maintain near his value (probably could get a #7ish pick for him this year) from last year and that's because he didn't play.

Even after 2011, I bet the Spurs couldn't have gotten a top 5 pick for Kawhi if they wanted. I think a good strategy would be to just try and trade your pick for someone around that slot the previous year that outperformed those around him.
What would Brogdon fetch, a top 15 pick? Thon about the same?

Seems to be a few guys who are worth >>> Pick slot (namely some #1 picks, Giannis, Gobert, Jokic) and a TON of guys worth a lot less. But I think this is standard in most sports that draft.

I think Spurs could have gotten a #5 pick for Leonard. His year 1 stats are pretty damn good and his measurables were insane to begin with. The only real reason he wasn't a lottery pick was due to him playing at SDSU. His wingspan and hand size are insane.

Wooderson - Can you explain why you think this? Not saying you're wrong, just that everyone seems to prefer Fultz, and I haven't seen enough of these two to know the difference.

^^^ Fultz is james harden, lonzo is john stockton, you can choose who you would rather have from those comparisons, but tis pretty accurate comparisons.

Yep. I would do that and the offer that's on the table (#3, player, another lottery pick).

Knicks need a ton of help. The could conceivably get 3 players tonight alone that can help them in the future. I'm not interested in Crowder or Smart and would much prefer that player to be Brown

Thon should get way higher than 15

Brogdon is interesting, not sure what his value should be.

Thon is super hard to measure. I don't think Bucks would move him unless it's top 5 pick.

Brogdon... I'd guess like 10-15 range?

Seems to be traction gaining around Butler to Denver for #13 plus "multiple young players not named Jokic".

If Harris or Murray are included I'm not sure I'd like it... Unless it was just one of them.

Would Mudiay-Hernangomez-Beasley+13 be enough? THere isn't one great talent there, but a pretty nice group of supporting pieces that would theoretically fit nicely with Hoiberg.

Apparently, Ainge taught everyone in the league (except for Sacramento) to hold out for the maximum with the Celtics-Nets trade. I think Ainge loves Brown in part because he was fearlessly willing to go against Lebron and didn't look horrible doing so and the Celtics seem to have a hard-on for the top of the 2018 draft class. They are going to do what they can to avoid giving either of those up, so there will be rumors of Ainge looking for other pieces (like Minnesota's pick).

Phil Jackson wants to unload Noah's contract. For what value of "stuff" does #3 + Crowder + stuff for Porzingis + Noah work? Is Noah such negative value that the Celtics should turn that down even if stuff=0?
NBA Draft 2017 Quote

Celtics aren't taking Noah's contract after doing all this work to get this much flexibility

Nets pick for Doncic equity

#3

Crowder

Brown

I think Brown would be better for the Knicks specifically solely for the upside but Crowder's contract is a better asset
