French Open doesn't need a thread, but we're talking about THE CHAMPIONSHIPS.

THE GOAT (and current betting favorite):

THE GOATs Nemesis:

THE GOAT that never was:

"Its a shame you were playing in this era" GOAT

Theres also some other guys playing in this tournament as well that should be fun to root for, especially the young ones (lolstan).

Honestly couldnt tell you a thing about the women's side except there will be upsets .

thread saver:
Spoiler:
Last on the court, but first in our hearts

Gonna be so epic. It was impossible to think that Federer and nadal would be in better form then djoker and Murray at this point last year. Rooting for fed to continue the magical year but mostly just looking forward to a lot of great tennis.

What sort of odds might one get on the field vs. any of Nadal, Fed or D Joke?

I'm more excited for this Wimby than I have been in about 10 years.

Federer one (last) time! Or Zverev (either one), that'd be cool too.

Murray was joint favourite up until getting knocked out at Queens a week or so ago. Roger has now become clear favourite. Murrays injuries haven't helped his odds either.

Rafa has somehow become 2nd favourite? WTF on that one.

Murray and Djok are joint 3rd favourites.

Make of that what you will

The big guns (Roger and Rafa) are 1.91

Big four are 1.32

Odds to reach final make more sense:-

Roger 3.
Novak 3.7
Andy 3.8
Rafa 4.

Novak just won Eastbourne.

Interesting.

Don't think it'll effect wimbledon in anyway shape or form.

Just having a little look at the rankings.

Murray is 2105 ahead of Rafa, 4125 ahead of Roger.

Murray is defending 2000 points. Rafa 0. Roger 720.

Rafa goes deep (which I don't think he will) and Murray gets knocked out early (which I don't think he will either). Rafa could be top of the rankings in a fortnight.

Roger wins it, he gains 1280 points. Murray has a BUCKET load of points in the last 6 months to defend. We likely could have a return of Roger and Rafa 1 and 2 in the rankings, how epic would that be in 2017!!

Pulling for all the young guys. Tennis is in serious trouble at the moment as far as the lack of young talent.

Don't agree plenty of young talent on the men's side but great players gonna great player and aren't giving up the throne lightly. Now the women's game that's just bingo cards waiting to happen.

Is it just me or is Kvitova one of those girls who has gotten progressively more attractive during her career?

Until Zverev won Rome this year, no player born later than 1990 had won any grand slam or ATP 1000 event.

Next year the thread title is definitely about Bellis but who is this goddess on the left? Working on my write up, switched to vodka. Gonna go with a pretty standard format.
