NBA Draft 2015 NBA Draft 2015

11-18-2014 , 09:23 PM
Thread won't be nearly as fun as last year's but maybe some people will emerge. Seems a complete lock that Okafor will go #1 based on the 15 minutes I've watched of this Duke/MSU game.

Anyway, college games are starting so might as well give NBA posters a place to post without bothering the cbb PURISTS.

Someone post some names to watch.

Justise Winslow is a wing-athlete defender type who a lot of people might fall in love with. Especially if he keeps shooting the lights out from three. Looks like a potential Kiwi type. Very fast, strong and athletic.

Okafor is at the moment 9/10, 8/10, and 7/8 FGs in about two and a half games.

Agree Winslow immediately stood out as having NBA potential to me.

Justise Winslow is a perfect name for a basketball player.

To break my Okafor circle-jerk, a few weaknesses

Defense:

Okafor is a good defender for a CBB big man, but not an elite one. He's good on the block and has good positioning defending the post. He blocks a fair amount of shots, but he's not a crazy athlete or super long like a Howard or a Brow, so it won't translate 100%. He's not great defending the PNR - he helps well to the dribbler but is slow to return to his own man. Of course, he's 18 and that will probably come with time. Overall, he's a good but not great athlete. I don't think he's going to be a an elite rim defender in the NBA, but he can be a decent one.

Obviously this is all thin-slicing at the moment.

WCS looks enormous. He's going to be a per-minute beast in the NBA.

Tyson Chandler seems like the obvious comparison for WCS. Is there anything I'm missing, or is it just that obvious?

I mean he's played like 80 minutes of college basketball?

Anyway, he has a good shot block rate and I thought played well above average D for a 18 yr old in his first college games

His offensive game for a college big appears early on to be at a different level than everyone else in the country

Jokic is already drafted, but what an interesting prospect. His numbers in the Adriatic league are interesting:

6'11" - 9'3" standing reach - 7'3" wingspan

16 pts / 9.9 rebs / 4.3 Ast / 1.5 to / 1.1st / 1.0 blk - 31MPG

I have only seen highlights, but he looks like the second coming of Pau or something.

[edit] oh and 36% 3's on 4.5 attempts

Did you really just make a post copying the measurables and boxscore stats for some random euro the Nuggets drafted in the 2nd round last year, in the 2015 NBA Draft thread?

Has no one ever showed you the STST subforum?
