I see Zeller falling during the draft process and winding up great value going like 7th-10th

I don't think Zeller will fall out of the top 5, although he probably should. He's looked pretty bad thus far. He obv should have came out last season.

Zeller's got such a good NBA game. Can face up, play back to the basket, play the high post. Great passer and great touch. I don't see bust in him.

he's going to get the Sullinger treatment. although supposedly he has a decent vertical. the trex meme is going to gain steam imo
also he's white

im an indiana homer but i do think zeller can be the real deal in the league. If his body allows him to fill out and put on some real muscle, he has the tools and i.q. to be an above average big. I dont think he can be a perrenial all star or anything but definitely a positive player for a good team.

Setting aside that nobody ever passes up elite talent in the NBA draft because of non-elite talent you already have, is Shabazz notably weak for his size? 6'6" 225 seems like it could play the 3.

Bazzy is 2" taller than Waiters and slightly more athletic.

pretty good espn insider article about #1 overall pick: http://insider.espn.go.com/mens-coll...ick-2013-draft

Quote:
It's been nearly five years since NBA general managers faced the dilemma they do right now. In the 2012, 2011, 2010, and 2009 drafts the choice was clear.

This year? Not so much.

At least three players -- Kentucky's Nerlens Noel, Indiana's Cody Zeller and UCLA's Shabazz Muhammad -- came into the season with a legit shot at going No. 1. Two others -- Kentucky's Alex Poythress and Maryland's Alex Len -- have been mentioned as possible No. 1s as well by GMs I've spoken with since the season began.

Right now scouts are pretty evenly split among the three.

don't really agree with that

Brow wasn't the obvious #1 pick at this time last year.. I don't think Kyrie was either

ESPN article today making the arugment for Poythress, Len & Gobert for #1. Sounds like derp mostly but I think Poythress has a shot. I'm warming up to Nerlins

moar draft talk needed

I've been impressed w/ Poythress but top 3 seems to overstate his value as a prospect a bit.

Granted I haven't watched him since the Duke game, but his TOV rate is alarmingly high for a guy who never passes and is not asked to do that much creation. Not really sure what's going on there, but unless it's a really bizarre fluke it should put a damper on his value. Howtf do you turn it over 5 times vs Samford when you have 6 2PAs, 0 FTAs, and 1 assist? He's giving back a lot of his TS awesomeness with this problem.

I'm pretty sure any draft where MKG is the consensus #2 guy going into the selections isn't a great draft.

Brow and Austin Rivers last year are pretty much exactly Noel and Shabazz this year. The guy is remembering the lack of controversy in March and backtracking it. There are some non-freshman contenders like Zeller, but last winter there was some chance Barnes or Sullinger would take it to the next level.

i remember tyler zeller in the top 5 pick after his freshmen year. then fringe lottery after junior year and late first round after that. i know cody is supposed to be more talented but letting tyler zeller fall that far is lol. big guys that can run the floor and can shoot will never be a bust.

Davis was already a much better prospect than Noel is now by this time last year imo.

Thought Davis was already the consensus #1 by December but not really sure.
