There are no rules.

Eta: but seriously, are we abiding by democratic or republican rules?

All thanks goes to mmb. I was just going to do some silly PM auction if he hadn't put in all this crazy amount of work.

I'm 99% sure it was known ahead of time.

It sounds like folks want to do 10 player rosters. The system will make sure you always have $ available to fill out that roster with $1 players.

If I have 100$ remaining on the last day with one spot to fill and I'm willing to pay 100$ for player A or B (but i'd rather have player A). The system won't allow me to place 2 bids on A and B right?

Correct. I wasn't able to come up with a reasonable solution to this just yet, so we're going to go back to the "you can only bid up to what you have available" logic that has been in the other auctions.

Note that the auction doesn't necessarily STOP on day 17 though. We can let it run a couple extra days so that players who haven't been picked yet can fill out everyone's roster.

Couldn't you set a global priority order for each batch of players up for auction each day? For instance, lets assume there are 15 players to bid on each cycle:

1) Auction moderator ranks them #1-15, use some type of criteria if you want (best player to worst player, whatever). Disclose this ranking to all teams before bids.
2) All of the teams bid.
3) Moderator determines the highest bid for player #1, team with the highest bid gets player #1, for sake of example, lets call them Team A.
4) Now we're onto player #2. The team with the highest bid gets player #2 EXCEPT if Team A wins player #2, but doesn't have enough cash left over due to their winning bid for player #1. Team A's bid is now cancelled and the team with the next highest bid gets player #2 (we'll call them Team B).
5) Repeat process for players #3-15.

This system allows for teams to bid on all of the players up for auction each cycle (if they wish to) without having to worrying about going over budget. It allows for the moderator to avoid having to deal with 32 different priority ranking lists for the 15 players up for auction.

I'm probably overlooking something simple that makes this impractible, but figured I'd throw it out there as a suggestion.

I sort of like that you cant just bid on every player if its exceeds your budget as it adds more strategy with choosing who to bid on. So for example, you cant bid on curry and cousins on day 6, you have to pick 1. This makes the auction more strategic, and it stops people from just under bidding every star/good player and hoping to luckbox value.

Yeah, just bidding what cash you have and being able to add infinite $1 fillers when you're out of cash is fine.

Also remember that mmbt0ne is standing this application up in his own time. The simpler the ruleset the simpler his code needs to be!!

I'm going to email out passwords today and the first round of bidding will close at 5pm Eastern on Tuesday.

It's not all finished up yet, but the things I have to rebuild are cutting players and selling between users and neither of those should be an issue for a few days.

Also, please don't purposely try to break things. I will just go into the database and adjust your team after the fact is something like that happens. This is like all rebuilt from the bottom up so please PM or slack me if **** is acting weird.
