Subbing. I would vote for either 5 years or straight dynasty if we're voting.

Also willing to take a coowner assuming mjw doesn't want to/is too busy to team up and crush again.

I would rather just one honestly, which would at least give us a shot of actually coming back and doing some kind of ranking.

I think 1 year is best. Dynasty results in a bunch of people claiming to have "won" and poor debates about who actually did and no one cares down the road when we actually have the data and results to analyze. We've shown time after time that certain players are rated top X dynasty players when they in fact never become top X players for even a 2-3 year stretch. Real contenders become a lot clearer when its just one year.

Ill team up with jajaja or one of the new guys if there is still space. I have done quite a few of these drafts in my day.

Thought: instead of rolling with 30 teams, we could roll out 32 & do a tournament based on win equities, random # generation, blah blah blah.

If we did a 3 or 5 year dynasty & anyone remembered, could do a tournament after each year based on player performance from the previous year.

Would be a pretty funny reminder of how bad certain teams will surely be.

I've been on my phone only, so will deal with the decisions regarding who is actually in or what have you in about 2 hours.

More people teaming up would almost certainly be helpful, though...

I think one year only makes sense if we actually do some sort of backtesting or have some sort of tournament/voting planned. That's really the only benefit over dynasty formats.

32 and win probabilities is good. Can determine win probabilities by a small committee or by making a poll for each region and having people vote if we want (this will result in more tilted win %s to reward those who drafted well, but still leave something to chance).

dynasty arguments are so often "this guy is gonna be a top 6 player in the league in years 4 and 5 and is a great fit with these 23-26 year olds who are all the 75th to 150th best players in the league already and will keep improving." then it turns out that the top 6 guy is more like the 20th best player in the league and none of the 23-26 year olds even becomes a bonafide second option for a team without a superstar yet somehow that team gets rated highly.

But if we actually follow up, people can mock those people who argue on the wrong side of things for years to come, &/or brag about how right they are, & isn't that really what the internet is all about?

Yes I agree that's silly but my point is that unless we actually backtest a one year draft, we will get the same type of arguments (and a less fun draft for most since only a few teams will have superstars)

Let's do half a season. Arguing about what happens after the all star break has been done to death.

Yes you'll have to bid $1 for your final guys.

The system will be smart enough to tell you what your max bid is.

If Jajajaja confirms that he will work with I run bad, they get a spot, or if anyone else wants to draft with I run bad, who I definitely recall from other drafts, they would get a spot. The-fryke is likely to have a spot, unless HBob comes in wanting to flex to assert dominance or Sethy wants to redeem himself for his mediocre 1st auction draft & whatever the Bucks are doing this off-season.

Not sure whose gimmicks Kowa & Tings are, but the SE mods can weigh in on whether they should have spots.

Going to keep things somewhat open for now as the draft isn't ready yet, anyway.

strongly against full dynasty, it encourages too much "i'll take damian jones he's so athletic clear center of the future obv" type picks when your first cpl are towns and wiggins or w/e

3 or 5 year seems fine, i don't think 1 is as bad as others think but i think 3 or 5 is preferable
