Giannis is a fantastic pick imo. The shooting thing is overblown because he has so much gravity drawing to the paint, much like a certain GOAT in this draft. You can sag off him, but he will still score.

What's more important, imo, is that Giannis can literally play center or PG, so in a theoretical league he's the most switchable player here. I'd rather have the first two guys picked ldo, but I'd have more fun building a team around Giannis.

I'm also in the Kawhi > KD camp.

I was probably gonna take Giannis if he fell to me at 7. 3 is a bit early imo but certainly defensible.

yea i think that's very, very far from the end all be all graph-- but it's a pretty reasonable approximation of how you should expect a lot of players to age. there will be many outliers, but people usually forget how quickly guys fall off after age 30

Experience is important. Players are in their athletic prime in their early-to-mid 20's and may even have their best statistical seasons but they are very rarely the best versions of themselves.

It's hard to say anything negative about Giannis as a prospect and he does have like legit GOAT equity if he can learn to shoot, which would make him a fine pick if we didnt have lke legit goatish players available. Just seems like an unnecessary gamble.

giannis seems absolutely fine at #3 for me over the next 5 years - in the sense that there's nothing obviously wrong with it and it's likely to be rightish.

I kinda assumed this was the real nba seasons from 2017-18 to 2021-22, but w/e.

Kathi will be 29 at the start of that and running up to 34 at the end. I'm agnostic as to how he will fall off in the last couple of years - could be not at all - but that seems more of a risk than Giannis's 17-18 not being good.

Year 4: 20-21
Year 5: 21-22
