Last two drafts I was in with ae (before your auction draft), I sniped Covington to his dismay.

He's been a top 10 player this season and is just 22 years and 112 days old, I'll take Giannis PG/PF

I would take Kawhi over KD.

pretty horrendous pick....maybe justifiable in full dynasty but in a 5 year the upside of that youth is pretty wasted...yeah he'll be great ages 22-27 or whatever but you may not even get any of his best years!

I dunno, I was assuming I was taking Giannis #5 but hadn't fully thought it through.

Idk man, looks like a pretty solid time to have him to me

i had giannis 10th...just too risky to build around a guy who cant shoot when there are such sick shooters out there

Also I guess it matters when the 'league' starts, either this offseason or right this second, I didn't read any of the rules before I picked. If it's a 4.5 year dynasty draft, I could see some of the other options being better.

This chart basically proves my point as to why there are at least a few better picks. There are guys out there you basically get their entire prime who are better players already.

It's not like it was a wildly outlandish 15 picks too early spew or anything, but was just overly fancy for no reason imo.

ill be shocked if most people would prefer him over the next 5 or so people to be picked

It's understandable that you can't comprehend that the pick is defensible, it's very difficult for us as humans to project the future when we see people doing great things right at this moment, even if they are in their prime or on the wrong side of it

can't go that wrong taking the best u23 player with possibly untapped potential (unique skill set, maybe bad coach)

picking early more of a disadvantage this year than most...would definitely rather have had like the 6th or 7th pick than #1 or 2

**** me, I forgot to ask what people wanted.

I had wanted the 5 years to begin with the 17-18 season.

Agreed, I'm happy at 5 but 6 or 7 would've been the equivalent and made my pick easier.

I think that should be fine considering Durant clearly wouldn't have been taken at 2 otherwise.

And the Spurs slappy was always taking Kawhi.

i do think reg season ws/48 is a little deceptive as a measurement. maybe confirmation bias, but have seen too many young players fail in the postseason before they're 26
