True. The trailer parks in Auburn are much nicer than the ones in Tuscaloosa.

Still some possible drama tonight: Adoree Jackson's Dad has absconded with his USC NLI. Wants Adoree to go to LSU.

And Malik McDowell hasn't sent in his NLI to Michigan State. His mom was not happy with that decision.

Adoree's dad is cool with it now. Probably just got over the initial shock of the LSU check being cancelled

UGA had a freaking fantastic day today. Already had a class ranked either #9 or #10 on all four big sites, and then lost no players and sniped 3 big players of their own.

They flipped a kid, Hunter Atkinson, from Cincy. A 3-star who is intriguing because he can play either TE or LT.

They also got a commit from 4-star Isaiah McKenzie. McKenzie had never even taken an official visit to UGA, instead visiting VT, Ole Miss and Florida. He had a ton of offers all over, great pick up for the Dawgs. He's a tiny 5'8 speedster who is a fantastic returner and offensive weapon.

And then of course Lorenzo Carter. Always nice to land 5 star monster defensive ends.

Great day.

Pretty amazing that Kentucky managed to get 7 of the top 25 kids from Ohio

Not too crazy since it's an adjacent state and the kids get the benefit of playing in the top conference while staying close to home. Kentucky should be getting most of their best recruits out of Ohio.

Pretty good day for South Carolina. The big 4 that were on the fence all went our way including Dexter Wideman.

The NCAA should just send an agent to those hat dances and snoop around. They could probably get the entire SEC on probation.

Yeah it's solid for Maryland & for being a smallish class, getting tabor would have been really nice though. I read that locksley is ranked the #1 recruiter in the big ten by 24.7. Hopefully he keeps convincing the diggs and princes of the world to "stay home"

ime Auburn itself is mainly Auburn fans, but in surrounding areas (very very poor rural towns with almost no college graduates anywhere), it seemed overwhelmingly Bama fans, although this too was 20 years ago.

It starts way before the hat ceremonies.

There are a lot of handlers/fixers/street agents out there who get paid by one school or another to steer players their way. Paying the handler isn't illegal (as long as you bother to provide the tiniest of smokescreens), and they can deny knowledge if he gets busted paying off a player.

Tennessee has a guy in Middle Tennessee named Buck Fitzgerald, who runs a "non profit" dedicated to helping young people prepare for college. UT and its boosters provide almost all the funds. It just so happens that almost all of these young people are future DI athletes, and most of them end up at UT. Total coincidence.

I'm sure almost all big-time programs have something similar going on (probably not Stanford, or Vandy & Northwestern if you consider those two big-time).

Keep whining about UT, bra.

Hey didn't you forecast Tennessee's recruiting rankings could plummet to as low as 15? Do I have that right? LOL

Not sure that's even controversial. Never said they'd have a bad class, just that it wasn't going to end up #2. Specifically, I said that UTs rank was a lot lower if looking at average rating per recruit than just total (given their oversized class).

IIRC, Fulmer had the #3 class in 2007, then both Kiffin and Dooley pulled top ten classes. How'd that work out for ya?

I remember that class had a 'big 3' of QBs that were all considered to be super-elite prospects. Stafford, Tebow and Mustain. Kiper said before Stafford played a down in college he thought he would go #1 in the draft one day, and he was right. Tebow never made it as a pro but was GOAT-ish in college.

and... Mustain. 2/3 ain't bad i guess. And true to recruiting form, SEC got all three.

Find it kind of hard to believe Myron Rolle was a top flight recruit. Now he's in med school. Heh, I haven't heard any of those FSU players' names in a long time.
