Re: Music Label Draft Picks and Discussion Thread

I have a trade with nath:

3, 38, and 103

for

11, 30, and 90

Probably not good value wise, but it will make my 1st round pick slightly less of a reach.

Re: Music Label Draft Picks and Discussion Thread

I went to a Springsteen concert a few months ago and it was incredible. The band played for like 3.5 hours and seemed to have endless amounts of energy. It was either the best or second best concert I've been to I'm not sure. Probably second.

Assani,

I realize the trade is horrible value wise, but I was taking the same person at 3 or 11, and I'm mostly just in this for kicks.

Also I'm pretty sure of who is going next so I might just start my write up now.

EDIT: Got Nath's pick via PM, won't say so he can do his write up and I'll start on mine.

I think MJ is #1 but it's close to coinflip assuming your #1 is obvious person lol. I'll explain why in a bit I imagine.

Re: Music Label Draft Picks and Discussion Thread

Michael Jackson is obvioulsy a very good pick and one of 5 or 6 guys who have a legit case for being the number one pick (Bruce is not one of those 5 or 6). Also Billie Jean is clearly the correct entrance music so props to Vix for getting that right as well.

Edit: The only thing I was unsure about was how much music MJ actually wrote/produced, which makes him less valuable then a couple other guys that would go that high.

You now must handcuff Michael w/Tito for the ultimate in long-term value.

Re: Music Label Draft Picks and Discussion Thread

not to tap the glass, but i don't think MJ is necessarily some kind of uber-GOAT pick for this format. unless you build a pop-oriented studio, and surround him with at least one top notch producer you're not going to get full value for his talents.

plus his output sucks, and his pedo-ness (and overall weirdness) isn't something random that occurred due to variance. all of the freakshow re-occurs at least 9/10 times for him...

Was listening to some MJ yesterday. Personal issues aside, he was really good at music.

1 album from MJ and I'm happy with any studio. He was my #1.

This imo. I had him more in the 5-10 range for these reasons.
