Not that deep. Black album goes from being my favorite album ever to repetitive every other month for me. Its like my 2nd most listened to record ever, I think on my Ipod I've listened to the album 100+ times in the 3 years I've had this ipod(the first album is well over 200 lol).

Lennon suffered from not keeping it real. He's like the poster child for when keeping it real goes wrong.

Its completely on my end, lol. Its just for whatever reason when I go to Jay-Z albums I'm able to switch it up except when I get into the black album, then its over and over and over until I can't listen to it again for 2 months.

Its a vicious cycle. Its probably easily my favorite Jay-Z album(it goes between RD and this) just wasn't thinking about it for whatever reason...he has to many albums imo .

I'm on team Needle. Reasonable Doubt is ****ing brilliant.

1 great thing about Jay-Z albums, when it finishes I know I need to finish working out as I've been in the gym for my allotted amount of time.

there is one other guy with a similar catalogue, but with less commercial success imo. I probably like that rapper more as well, but imo Jay-z is the better pick over him.

For better or worse Jay has made a conscious decision to make music that will be more commercially successful. He is in a lot of ways the Michael Jordan/Tiger Woods of rap, but not because his skill is levels above everyone else, because he has taken a very "Republican buy sneakers too" approach to his music. Empire State of Mind is clearly contrived to be a ubiquitous song, but at the same time thousands of artists try to create ubiquitous songs and don't come close to having that success. I think Jay is a good pick, but I think there are other hip-hop artists who can make anyone into a star with their production and I am not sure Jay's force of personality will automatically make him into the global icon he became.

Some suck and end in like 40 minutes. Jay-Z typically ends in 1 hour no matter what.

Ha, just looking through producers I'm getting excited. So many ways to go. And not to mention awesome combinations of some rock star or latin music star.
