ghana have to bump this thread to take back my claim that Rihanna was the worst pick of all-time

might be results oriented, but Man Down is like a top 47 song of all-time so the pick can't be that bad

EDIT: Also did seriously nobody take Akon? wtf

Thanks for the bump. I literally just spent the past hour listening to music from this thread.

It was in this thread that I learned that when it came to music(and maybe even life) I had so little in common with the rest of sporting events. One of SE's top threads imo.

I still reread the thread from time to time. This draft was insanely fun obv. I'm still pissed that I had limited internet access in the later rounds so I didn't get to fully commit to some of my homerish picks.

"Your" homerish picks? I bought out your label with the revenues from my big stars because you kept taking my homer picks.

Yeah.

Thinking of the music my label could have made before they went bankrupt is pretty awesome though.

They'll still make awesome music! We appreciate quality at K-NATH Records.

Eminem pick in the second round is looking better now.

And how dope is Win Butler in the very last round looking now?

At some point, there was some mention of doing a desert island album draft, I'm not sure but I may have been the one to mention the idea and some people were interested.

Any interest in this? Something like draft 10-12 albums each to take to a desert island, no live albums perhaps. No idea how to treat double albums but WE, I would definitely be in.

am i the only one still waiting for my label to start putting out albums?

ya know, the living members anyway...

hypothetical questions:

- let's say your label put out 1 album per year (~15 songs), with all artists alive and in peak ability. how much would you pay for that, given that you'd have to buy it every year?
- how about for a replacement level label (take roughly the average of how they appeal to you)?
- how about the label you like least, would you even bother buying their annual album?

This guy goes in the first round in a redraft based on ceiling/projected potential alone:

Is anyone ready yet to admit how awesome my label was?

Rihanna is quite indisputably the biggest solo female artist around the world atm and has been since 2008, so she's not a horrible pick.

Gaga is close but Rihanna is more popular in places like Africa, south-east Asia, south Pacific islands, etc.

?

Am I reading this right? Rihanna was taken in the 7th round. For a #1 female artist at any time, that's massive value. Strikingly bad upon first glance is Jay-Z in the top 10 and Thom Yorke as a 2nd rounder.

lol @ Adele > Rihanna. Adele has had 2 international hits. Rihanna has had 20. Funny joke though; I did laugh IRL.
