He was a two division belt holder from WSOF (MW and LHW). He was in the UFC back in the day and got cut for no real reason.
He's bjj'er who has a karate background and I thought I remember Jordan Breen saying his family is in boxing from a podcast way back. He's an all around MMA'er with length but no pop.
Seems like Rockhold might get a title shot just off being impressive vs him. No one else is really in position to fight the Whitaker/Bisping winner right now.
See the fight going similar to Gastelum's fight vs Kennedy where he got taken down some but eventually gassed and got picked apart on his feet. Weidman is just so slow on his feet compared to Kelvin.
Gastelum via RNC in a scramble after The Chris gasses is my pick.
I could see Weidman big brothering him via top position also, maybe even to a TKO in rd 2 or 3, otherwise he has to hang in during the late rounds when Gastelum rallies.
Thought Weidman used his natural physical advantages well. Gastelum has faster hands, but Weidman's significant reach advantage allowed him to land without getting hit. The length and size difference let Weidman dominate the grappling and secure some slick trips.
Saw Jones said he would fight Lesnar and Lesnar said he is down for it as well. That fight seems like a no brainer then, pretty much the only fight at HW/LHW (or any UFC fight besides McGregor) that could draw big $.
If DC loses this, I kinda think he retires. Or maybe moves up to HW and tries to make 1 last run there. But there just isn't anything else to do at LHW besides fight Bones.
I just don't think there is that much to analyze about Jones/Cormier. Great matchup, best matchup UFC could make between 2 fighters in the same division in terms of ability and pedigree of the two fighters.
But we already saw them fight once, it was pretty uneventful. Now they fight again, will Bones have more ring rust? Will DC pace himself better or have better cardio or get inside on Bones better?
Probably not, most likely result is it just goes how the first fight goes. So while I am looking forward to it, I can see why there are really no posts on it.
Also this is like the 4th time they were scheduled to fight or w/e, so there is a "hurry up and get this thing going" dynamic as well. Just not much else to say at this point.

I'm actually more excited about cowboy and lawler although their chins seem to be a little more susceptible lately. Could be FOTY if their chins hold up and it's a 3rd brawl
