Rockhold returning sept 16th to fight David Branch. Not sure who this guy is but UFC has him ranked 9th.

Seems like a tune-up fight. Don't see too many of those in the UFC for the top contenders.

He was a two division belt holder from WSOF (MW and LHW). He was in the UFC back in the day and got cut for no real reason.

He's bjj'er who has a karate background and I thought I remember Jordan Breen saying his family is in boxing from a podcast way back. He's an all around MMA'er with length but no pop.

He's 35. His last loss was to Rumble in '12.

Seems like Rockhold might get a title shot just off being impressive vs him. No one else is really in position to fight the Whitaker/Bisping winner right now.

Maybe Gastelum if he smashes tonight.

I should amend that they cut him because he's boring.

His skill-set is kind of like a poor man's Bones.

More I think about it, I like Gastelum here.

See the fight going similar to Gastelum's fight vs Kennedy where he got taken down some but eventually gassed and got picked apart on his feet. Weidman is just so slow on his feet compared to Kelvin.

Rooting for Weidman if anything tho.

I could see Weidman big brothering him via top position also, maybe even to a TKO in rd 2 or 3, otherwise he has to hang in during the late rounds when Gastelum rallies.

How many wheel kicks is Weidman gonna throw?

Woah, had no idea The Chris is the dog.

Decent sized dog, about +140 to +160 range

Ya, I saw that right before the fight. This size of dog was the woah factor.

Thought Weidman used his natural physical advantages well. Gastelum has faster hands, but Weidman's significant reach advantage allowed him to land without getting hit. The length and size difference let Weidman dominate the grappling and secure some slick trips.

Cormier may never wake up.

JJ didn't look great vs OSP, looked very rusty and not as quick. He's had another similarly long layoff.

DC can definitely win, although I think it's about 70/30 for Jones.

70/30ish sounds right

Saw Jones said he would fight Lesnar and Lesnar said he is down for it as well. That fight seems like a no brainer then, pretty much the only fight at HW/LHW (or any UFC fight besides McGregor) that could draw big $.

If DC loses this, I kinda think he retires. Or maybe moves up to HW and tries to make 1 last run there. But there just isn't anything else to do at LHW besides fight Bones.

I would be pretty surprised if Jones knocks DC out, I think Jones has too many tools and will win a decision but I don't see anyone knocking DC out.

I can see DC retiring if he loses too.

I just don't think there is that much to analyze about Jones/Cormier. Great matchup, best matchup UFC could make between 2 fighters in the same division in terms of ability and pedigree of the two fighters.

But we already saw them fight once, it was pretty uneventful. Now they fight again, will Bones have more ring rust? Will DC pace himself better or have better cardio or get inside on Bones better?

Probably not, most likely result is it just goes how the first fight goes. So while I am looking forward to it, I can see why there are really no posts on it.

Also this is like the 4th time they were scheduled to fight or w/e, so there is a "hurry up and get this thing going" dynamic as well. Just not much else to say at this point.

I'm actually more excited about cowboy and lawler although their chins seem to be a little more susceptible lately. Could be FOTY if their chins hold up and it's a 3rd brawl

I think I'm betting the farm on Bones and Cyborg @ 1.50, feels like both their opponents might die tonight
