Khabib's replacement being announced in 10

I hope it's Nate

Didn't Mark Hunt's last fight card have someone pullout too? sucks.

I heard people saying they wanted Nate initially but he was too heavy with so little time from the fight.

Hunt's last fight was 200 vs Lesnar, Jon Jones had to pull out of that for failing the drug test.

Looks like Michael Johnson was gonna fill in but not for the interim title and Tony Ferguson was getting paid less so he declined.

If it isn't for the interim title will the athletic commission not let them do 5 rounds?

UFC should just pay Ferguson the difference, who cares. Better than a cancellation.

Doesn't sound like this is true if Ferguson said he didn't want to fight Johnson for less money+no interim then don't think he is going to do so vs someone else. Unless it is a much easier fight I guess...

Wasnt there a hold on on the Khabib/Ferguson fight getting confirmed because Ferguson wanted more pay than his current contract was for. If he had to work to get the pay raise i can see how he would be pissed for them to now lowball when looking for a replacement fight.

Semi related, with this Khabib weight cutting hospitalization can we PLEASE change the rules about weight cutting? It is so ridiculous, guys cut so much weight, I really don't think we need someone to die before we address the issue do we? Just make it like college wrestling weight cutting where you can only cut so much relative to your body weight.

Weigh in the day before and weigh out after the fight with a % delta allowed. If you miss the weigh out and you won it's a nc and you forfeit your purse to the opponent. If miss the weigh out and you lost it stays a loss and you also lose your purse. That way the incentive is strong but the fight won't be more likely to get canceled before they happen than they already are by adding multiple chances to miss before the fight.

Who determines what a guys "body weight" is though?

These aren't college athletes, these are guys trying to get to the top of a professional sport to make millions of dollars.

Why not just weigh in right before the fight. If you are fighting for the 155 belt you should weigh 155 during the fight.

If people had to weigh in just before the fight. The same people would be fighting each other as now except everyone would move up a weight class.

Weight cutting is legit the stupidest thing ever. For the most part you got 2 guys that walk around at the same weight draining themselves to drop like 10-20lbs so that they can fight each other at a lower weight class.

they tried something like that before, it led to Khabib times 10 everyone was severely dehydrated and fighting in that state is very dangerous

humans gonna human, as long as it's possible to cut weight people will do it and not gaf about consequences

Khabib is a joke. Quite ironic that the day before at the pre fight press conference Ferguson shouted at khabib "good luck with your weight cut you're conditioning sucks"

Was really hoping Nate was in shape an ready to fight, what a story that would have been if he managed to beat Ferguson.

Rogan, Anik and Cruz on commentary for the first fight of the night at the very least. Think that is a pretty good lineup.

Dana calling out Khabib's team for not going through UFC doctors. Said that he thought the fight could've been saved if they didn't go "rogue"

Not sure what he thinks UFC doctors could do that the hospital he went to couldn't.

Everytime Cruz has done the commentary ive been really impressed with how good he was at it. Easily the best of the fighters in this role.
