Is Miesha fighting pennington on this card? Haven't seen it announced but it is on the sportsbooks odds.

Headline 200 to not even on main card for this a big dropoff.

That fight is listed on the card at UFC.COM.

I googled Miesha Tate and saw nothing.

She is a fairly big star because of the Rousey fight and headlining 200, surprised that went so under the radar.

3 title fights on NY card, cant have that many fights on the main card due to gotta schedule for three fights that could be 5 round fights. also there are a lot of other better fights that can sell the PPV better then tate vs pennington....my guess is weidman/romero be on the main and maybe 1 other fight not sure who it'll be, but my guess is either A. kennedy/evans or B. khabib/johnson...my guess is khabib/johnson in hopes to give khabib the next title shot after he does a lay n pray job on johnson

Wouldn't Miesha Tate rather headline a fight night or something than not even be main card?

She has been main event or co-main event of some of the biggest cards in UFC history.

I think Weidman/Romero will be on the main and I think Edgar/Stephens is the other 1. Since Edgar/Weidman are two big local stars and former champs.

If Khabib is healthy then he seems like free money at -230...

this seems like the most reasonable thing for the UFC to do, but ufc gonna do what UFC want i suppose. i suppose maybe she wants to be a part of the first NY card im not exactly sure though.

I think a lot of this has to do with she was always fighting rousey and she was either in title fights or #1 contender fights for the most part. the womens division was so shallow when it first came to the UFC, that it was pretty much rousey and tate and then everyone else. now the division is starting to get some more women that are able to compete within the top tier and with tate just losing now shes back at the bottom of the food chain so she gonna have to work her way back up i assume. i suppose that means starting on an undercard when the card is as stacked as this one is.

I think Weidman/Romero will be on the main and I think Edgar/Stephens is the other 1. Since Edgar/Weidman are two big local stars and former champs.
your guess is as good as mine as to who will be the 5th fight on the main card i think weidman is a lock to be on the main though. cerrone gastelum is a good fight too. a good problem to have when so many good fights to choose from though

If Khabib is healthy then he seems like free money at -230...
khabib is a better version of ben askren IMO someone gonna have to catch him with a lucky punch to beat him i think

It's going to be a 6 fight PPV main card. Expect Weidman, Cerrone, and Khabib. Miesha probably headlines the FS1 prelims.

Going to be heavily rooting for MJ to turn off Khabib's lights so El Cucuy can get the next title shot after he finishes RDA.

looks like tate ended up making the PPV portion of the card.
3 title fights then weidman/cerrone/tate.

So Edgar not on it? Tate is a bigger star than him but he still surprising given the NY/NJ connection.

i'm pretty piss khabib and aldo got passed over ( logic would of been aldo vs mcgregor and alvarez vs nurmagomedov),
but at least the 205 card seem the best card ever made.

Is it possible the UFC just doesn't want Khabib as champ?

Probably wouldn't be much of a draw and once he got the title it might be pretty tough for Conor. If Conor really doesn't want to make 145 anymore and 155 is the Khabib division then that sortof blocks the UFC's biggest star a little bit.

Rogan said he thinks Khabib is always hurt because of how hard he trains, so maybe UFC feels like he wouldn't be reliable as champ either.

I think it's just star power for the MSG fight, Conor McGregor is a huge star and Khabib is not. Now if Khabib wins and doesn't get next shot then something is really wrong. We can say what we want about CMG but I can't think of a bigger star in the UFC to fight at MSG.

After the way the 200 card unfolded and basically fell apart I feel like there might have been some talk about how they just didnt want to risk going with Aldo for the main event of 205. He has already pulled out of 5 title fights via injury so they might have just preferred to go with the safe option in McGregor vs Alvarez.

He's at AKA with Cain, not surprised at all.

I don't understand anyone trying to justify why Conor should fight Aldo.

I knew the # was 5 for Aldo. I don't know if that is a reason the UFC doesn't want to do the rematch but it is clearly a reason McGregor doesn't. He's talked about it.

He's been screwed by injury pullouts twice and doesn't feel like dealing with Aldo anymore. It sounds like he was much more willing to fight Edgar than Aldo had Edgar won at 200. Even though Edgar in theory is a worse matchup for him stylistically.
