BJ Penn is a legend in his own mind. Wake me up when he doesn't suck balls every third fight and have his excuses pouring out the day after.

Was it already posted in this thread about what Sonnen said about Silva?

i suppose you just dont like him, thats fine, but im sure when bj retires he will be regarded as a legend in more than just his own mind.

cmon he usually whoops ass and does it in exciting fashion, like when he split sanchez's head with the 1st head kick he tried (this after diego tried for 5 rounds to kick his head), or where he totally dominated florian after kenny saying how he was going to bring the fight to him.

if im honest i'd say i like bj best out all the fighters in UFC.

it was, search 'chael' or 'sonnen'

basically he said he has a moral obligation to beat the **** out of anderson silva.

Also, Dana announced on Jim Rome that Anderson's next fight will be Chael Sonnen. He also commented that if something as bad at UFC112 ever happens again, he'll cut him. I doubt he actually would, but he said he would.

I think this is great. I think I already posted about it above, but Chael is a great opponent for him.

Chael is going to ****-talk Anderson out of his mind. If Anderson truly felt 'disrespected' by Maia's benign, harmless pre-fight talk, he's going to blow a ****ing gasket with Chael. Chael will call him every name in the book: pansy, dancer-boy, afraid to really fight, not a real man, etc. I'm hoping Chael actually shames Anderson into finishing him. In addition, the style matchup is better. Leites and Maia were both BJJ guys who wanted to bring the fight to the ground, but didn't have elite wrestling to back it up. The result was awful. Chael has elite wrestling, and he just got finished running a wrestling clinic on Marquardt, who is immensely strong and a very good wrestler himself. Chael has the skill to actually threaten takedowns.

Combine the mad ****-talking that Chael will do with a more credible TD threat, and I think we get a really good fight. I don't think the numbers for this fight will be hurt too terribly. People hate Anderson right now, and might say they don't want to see him fight. But they will want to see him lose and Chael is gonna talk a good enough game to make them tune in to see it.

more random news:

Rogan and Goldy will be doing the WEC announcing. Basically, the WEC is getting folded into the UFC no matter how much they insist it isn't. Dana White is promoting this PPV, not Reed Harris, WEC president. Rogan and Goldy are announcing it. It has to be considered inevitable that the WEC merges into the UFC.

Sorry if it's already been discussed but how on earth is shinya aoki a dog to gilbert meldez. Sure gilbert is the better wrestler but i doubt he can escape aoki's subs.

Hmm that's interesting that Gilbert is favored. I do think he will win though even if I Aoki.

He can use his better wrestling to remain standing and out strike Aoki. That's the logic anyways.

the arm break was fine. If you're a professional fighter, you know the rules. You can tap or you can get your arm snapped. He obviously didn't want to tap, so Aoki broke the **** out of his arm. That's the logical consequence of not tapping, and it's not like he didn't know the rules of MMA going into the fight.

The disrespect after the fight was weird coming from Aoki. It was clearly kind of out of line unless there's some previous history those two have that I'm not aware of (i don't think any such history exists). Very weird of Aoki to do that.

I know their two respective promotions were very hostile towards each other in the leadup to this and other fights, but it didn't seem personal.

random hilarious youtube video

http://www.youtube.com/v/4nHV-RXFKPY

Frankie Edgar's friends reacting to the decision. What's hilarious is that when Buffer reads the 50-45, they all yell "WHAT, THATS BULL****" because they automatically assume there's no way Frankie won all five rounds so it must be for BJ.

lol 50-45

Wrong thread but if Mayweather beats Mosley, it'll be back on. I'd say 90% chance of getting done. They'll have no one else left to fight for big money.

And if Mosley wins, it's Pac-Mosley.

I personally think White is just worried about GSP getting slaughtered. I still really want to see the fight though and I don't really give a **** how Silva won his previous fights. Cutting him or reprimanding him is ******ed if no one can touch him in a fight.

He never sucks, he just loses sometimes, and he's made 0 excuses for this fight. I think people remember all the stuff said after the GSP fight and think BJ does that every time he loses. Before Saturday he had lost 4 times since 02 all at higher weight classes and to either current UFC champs (GSP and Machida) or former champs (Hughes) and in those fights the first GSP fight was a controversial split division where GSP took so much punishment he had to spend the night at the hospital, as did Penn. Penn was dominating Hughes and then either gassed or pulled a rib muscle depending on who you ask and lost a close decision to Machida at HW where Penn went into the fight at 192 to Machida's 217 and even scored a takedown in that fight.

That's a matter of opinion, and you can tell from BJs reaction after the fight even he thought he lost.

It won't be as big as if an undefeated Mayweather fought Packy IMO. Especially with the bad blood over the last time they tried to fight. I won't be anywhere near as excited with Mosley since I want to see Packy pwn Mayweather now.
