Like 80% of the goals in this league are just completely unforced errors at the back

just saw that San Jose fired their head coach...the day after a win and a move into playoff position. idk I thought SJ had shown some improvement this season compared to last.

Only beating RSL by 1 at home is grounds for dismissal.

Ballou!!! Canada's best player with a masterful finish to put Montréal up 1-0 in leg 2 of the Canadian Final (2-1 IMFC on agg)

Crépeau stoned TFC on a point blank header earlier, good match so far for Impact homegrowns.

Sure would be nice to watch the Open Cup games. Been trying to stream the FC Dallas game on their website for 30 minutes now with limited success. Add this to the list of reasons why soccer still struggles here. Looked like the stands were pretty empty too. Teams should be literally giving tickets away if they have to in the hopes of creating new fans. Invite youth teams, partner with schools, whatever. A Tuesday night game in June against anyone is a hard sell but they don't do themselves any favors.

Gio levels Canadian Final, now tied on agg. in the 55th minute and set to go to extra time, but it's been end to end for the last few minutes.

Teams in the past have frequently discounted Cup games, it doesn't work. It's a lot harder to convince people to give you their time than their money.

Really hope ATLUTD puts out a lineup of all teenagers and bench players tonight against Miami FC. Willing to eat that loss if it means the important players are rested for Saturday at Columbus. We've only earned 1 point in our last 5 road games, so a result there would be really nice.

-------------Vasquez--------------
- Carleton -- Kratz ---- Kunga --
------ Goslin ---- McCann --------

Also, Cincy/Chicago game got moved from ESPN2 to ESPN after Cincy sold another 30k tickets. Get 'em, FC Cincinnati. FWIW, Corben Bone and Austin Berry were not-awful MLS players who played for Chicago Fire and a handful of other players were in Chicago's academy system at some point. Also, somehow I missed the fact that Omar Cummings and former-Arsenal-man Justin Hoyte are on FCC. **** it, I'm all in. Ride or Die Fountain City!

ATL's in fine shape for MLS I think and can afford to play to win tonight in US Open Cup. They've played only 7 out of 17 matches at home. They'd be comfortably in 4th place with an even distribution up to this point. I'd be shocked if they missed the playoffs.

In for Cincy-Fire (obv rooting for Cincy), atmosphere should be absolutely insane and will hopefully convert a few randoms who happen to turn on ESPN.

Think the Cincy shirts look pretty cool and I'm really impressed by the crowd. Just turned it on so those are my only observations so far.

As mentioned, Kinnear got the axe a day after getting the team above the red line and there's no complaint from me. We've stolen a couple of results, and though we don't have the lowest goals scored, were definitely in the bottom few and worst among the current playoff sides. His replacement Chris Leitch had been running the academy, and observers were surprised that he seems to have been handed the job fulltime, not having been handed the interim tag.

Handwriting was on the wall when they announced their "big" dp last week, and Kinnear wasn't on the conference call announcing the signing, and very likely he had no say in the matter.

Yet again, this dp is another player with absolutely zero name recognition, I'd say San Jose's dp record over the years can match anyone's for utter crapulence, (Innocent Ermagerd being the most vivid recent example). But the new president promised a young attacking midfielder and so brought one in, he's a Georgian national 24 years old from Vitesse in the Dutch League.

I didn't read the article, but I saw a headline that Wondo was "blindsided" by the firing. Good. As much as he's done for the team, he's an aging piece who is too limited to build around for the future.

Chicago's had a ton of good chances

BUT

Cincinnati had a strong handball penalty shout and now a goal incorrectly disallowed for offside imo.
