Alhassan is showing some good stuff tonight, he looks much more composed than he did last season.

Re: MLS 2012 Season

Anyone interested in a 2+2 MLS Fantasy League? I made a team last year but kind of lost interest since I wasn't in a group. Looks like espn and mlssoccer both have options, I don't know much about them, maybe there are some others that are better.

Yeah, that's how I heard about the service. Thanks though, I missed that part of it, so I guess the answer to my question is yes, thanks. This will be my first year subscribed. Let's keep this thread live.

Yeah, this. Looks like 207 and 208 are in TA. I'd look in 209.

I took this and the other videos from 210 at the Galaxy match last year. I think 209 or 210 are optimal for atmosphere and personally I prefer the ends for viewing as well but that's a preference thing - I use the end-to-end camera in FIFA which most people don't like.

The way the stadium is setup, you lose a lot of sound if you aren't in the same area. At least for the main part, not sure about the rich-guy seats. It's hard to describe, but if you are in say section 217 the TA won't be nearly as loud as if you are in 211. Obviously you would be closer, but I think the way the roof is helps it a lot. I sat all around from 215-220 for the first several games I went to and thought it was fantastic and loud but was still blown away by how loud the Timbers Army was when I sat in 210 for the Galaxy.

Due to the overwhelming response to this post, I went ahead and made a private head-to-head league here http://fantasy.mlssoccer.com/, hopefully some of you will join up so I don't have to play myself each week.

It's a shame Omar went down because their Defender depth isn't great, but the rest of the subs are Mike Magee, Michael Stephens, Kyle Nakazawa, Chad Barrett, Pat Noonan, Adam Christman, and Paulo Cardozo. Pretty damn stout for an MLS roster.
Kind of late for this, but how many points would you expect a team like this to get in one of the top Euro leagues?

Re: MLS 2012 Season

I'll join the league if you don't mind having someone who has no clue about anybody other than the ~top 3 players for each team.

EDIT: nevermind, don't use facebook and I don't see any other login options.

Re: MLS 2012 Season

OMFG 24 hours until pandemonium. 46,000 tickets sold = sellout. Was planning on taking it easy but now I'm thinking I'll get trashed on the subway ride downtown. Also picked up a 1/2 season ticket for this upcoming year - it's kind of ****ty though, no LA no NYRB

As for tomorrow - realistically we need to win by 2 goals imo to have a chance at advancing.

Key man to watch is Frings - nobody really knows if we're going to play the standard Winter Ajax 433 or if he is going to have Frings drop deep and play as a sweeper in a 343. We played some 343 last season but I thought that was just for lols since it was at a time when there was nothing really to play for w/ no shot at the playoffs.

I think the Galaxy starting 11 is good enough to not have to worry about relegation in any of the major leagues.

However depth is always going to be a problem with MLS teams due to salary cap constraints, and that's no different in this case.

Granted, their depth is a lot better than probably any team in MLS history:
F: Chad Barrett, Adam Christman, Pat Noonan
M: Mike Magee, Michael Stephens, Brian Jordan, Kyle Nakazawa
D: Omar Gonzalez (if healthy), Andrew Boyens

Most of those guys could start in MLS somewhere. Barrett, Noonan, Gonzalez and Boyens all have caps for their national teams. So do all non-Brazilian starters (unless, as most people predict, Magee will be a starter in place of Sarvas).

However, in a 38 game schedule + league cup + domestic cup, that roster could have some serious issues. I still expect that they'd finish clear of the relegation zone, but they'd have to put up some ugly showings in the cup matches and Europe wouldn't be an option.

Yeah, I was disappointed it only seemed to take Facebook. I don't usually do that, but I can't let poor CP be all alone.
