it's so unreal how ****ing terrible these umps are allowed to be.
automated strike zone called by robots is such an easy solution but god forbid we mess with tradition.
and we don't even have to get rid of the umps (ppl afraid of killing all those jobs) you can have them their in a ceremonial role (maybe they get the ball/strike call instantly and still "call" them and "keep the count" etc but they aren't actually making any calls themselves etc).
**** I don't know what the best way to implement it is but their impact on the games are ridic significant and it boggles my mind how we let umps like what's his face who called that NLCS game in 97 between braves and marlins call games.

The Rays announcers were so excited and confused about how Kevin Cash was managing the game like a playoff game by bringing in the the "closer" to face 3-4-5 in a one run game in the 8th. These old school ****s can't gtfo soon enough.
