Frazier has played 10 minutes in the show. Who knows how good he'll be 2-4 years from now? Gardner is signed through next year only (team option for 2019) and is on the trade block every off-season. Judge and Ellsbury look like they'll be around for a while--but **** happens--injuries, players becoming intolerably bad, etc. Talent is talent, and you can never have too much. People thought the Mets had too much SP at the beginning of the season.
Ok...but you can make the same argument the other way too for Blake Rutherford. If he's not in the big picture no reason to keep him. Here's what we know; Gardy is here until he isn't, Judge is here hopefully forever, Ellsbury is here too and we all wish he wasn't, Clint Frazier is here and is already showing signs that the hype around him is real. Bryce Harper, in pinstripes 2018, not real but is more of a possibility to be real than Rutherford is to be coming up to be a major contribution in 18, or 19-20 for that matter.

Like Karak, I've always liked DRob, but he has gotten worse and is extraneous in our pen. We don't need him; we need Chapman and Betances to start pitching like the superstars they're capable of being. We especially don't need him when we get Kahnle, who is much better.
Just to amend my $$$ comment not saying it's an awful trade if the Yanks pick up all of the money I just as well prefer them not pick it all up. Then again Randy Levine does have the money printing press in his office still so $$$ is whatever I suppose.
Agreed on Chapy and Dellin but I never thought for one second they were gonna hit the skids for good. They slump, it happens. Love Kahnle too but to put things in perspective D-Ro doesn't have to be D-Ro of old he just needs to be better than Clippard in the 7th...I don't think that's too much to ask and well within his capability to handle.

If we could find someone else to play 1B and kill Headley and have Frazier play 3B I'd like it better.
Only good thing about this deal is now we have dos Fraziers and can bat them next to each other and watch Frazier and Frazier go back to back
100% agree and as I said before at worse Clippard vs Frazier is a wash, at best Clippard is still HIV on a stick (-0.1 WAR currently) and Frazier (1.6 WAR currently...not sure if that's a typo or not) contributes significantly for about a quarter of the games left and sucks for the rest.
They still need a SP though...Sonny Gray possibly???
