There's a trophy room at Wrigley now. Neat.

Well there were 19 people who voted for the Dbacks in the poll for this thread, the most for any team.

Mets are PR sluts especially when it makes them more covered than the Yanks.
Tebow is trying to make the bigs. All those minor league teams only have a handful of big league prospects on them, Tebow isn't gonna be blocking any actual prospect the mets think can make the big leagues. This narrative is overblown. He certainly has athleticism + some power.

The symptom of how stupid our society is simply all the butthurt he's causing some of you in this thread; good for him that he's not literally hopeless out there.

Ofc he's not making the big leagues, but whatever. He'll flame out, so will nearly everyone on his team, it's how it goes.

I feel pretty much the same as wheatrich, though I'll be extra harsh on everyone if he ends up as a replacement level A-ball player, since I don't think this is 100% PR/money grab. It's not like he's Will Ferrell out there... he's a guy who could legitimately embarrass me at every aspect of baseball other than maybe baseball IQ.

The nationals have decided that defense is optional tonight. Daniel Murphy has been especially bad, even for him

I'm 500 miles from Wrigley and I'm loving this. Can't imagine being there right now.

Royals scored six runs off Luke Gregorson. . And about 6 or 7 other runs off actual pitchers.

7 games in

Eta: that's not accurate. . They managed 5 runs in the twins series and ten non-Gregorson runs in Houston

Think my favourite thing about baseball coming back is watching dumb clips at work and giggling. Case in point:

Very cool story. 6 of a team's 21 runs came off one pitcher. Over the first 7 games.

couple things:

1) dodgers are worse at base running than trump is at being president.

2) im so sick and tired of hearing ppl whine that tebow is robbing some kid of the chance of making the majors. its the same ******ed as narrative we heard when MJ was trying to play baseball. i could understand it from lolcasual fans but i was hearing ****ing so called baseball experts spouting this nonsense.

the idea that a player with even the slightest chance of becoming a real prospect would not make the team cuz of some celebrity gag signing is just absurdly idiotic.
how can you actually even say that with a straight face.

yes there is some kid who played college baseball and could've toiled away for a few years in class A ball who's gonna have to give up on his dream a few years earlier but lets not kid ourselves into thinking the person who lost their spot to tebow was EVER going to make it even to AAA.

i've never liked tebow (he cost me a **** ton of money when he was on the broncos) and obv this whole thing is a dumb publicity stunt, but so what? who cares? his teammates seem to like him and i just don't see why anyone would actually care enough to get upset.

3) the dodgers are so good and yet they still drive me crazy at least once a game.
so much talent such little intelligence.

I don't give a rat's ass about Tebow "stealing a spot". I'm just not interested in him and think his being featured in baseball news is a massive waste of time.

Granted, it wasn't the most compelling of takes, but every wart is magnified in the early season.

RBK, i was sure you were going to rant about Roberts not intentionally walking Rizzo in the 9th with first base open. i thought it was pretty bad, but i guess not?

Fact:

Joc Pederson has the second most punchable face in the MLB, just behind Derek Law.
