I'll never get over how the combination of me posting in this thread for years, and you posting in this thread for years, means that any time I laugh anywhere near you in this thread, I'm devoting extra time to you.

grunch

He was 14 years old and knew exactly what he was doing, with a 6 year old. I didn't read whatever drivel you tried to justify your feelings with, but I'm pretty sure you wouldn't give a **** if we weren't talking about a white guy.

And no, you're not a monster, but clearly you can rationalize almost anything, so I doubt you're to be trusted.

A 6 year old. You should be ashamed.

Vick lost 71M over 7 years from his contract getting terminated, and over 50m in endorsements he had lined up over the following year period.

THEN he spent 2 years in federal prison.

LOL

I guess I'm just viewing this differently. The jail time is a separate thing, there's guidelines for most every crime and I'm not going to argue one way or the other-they both served a sentence for their crime and that was determined by a judge, so its tough to argue that end of the spectrum.

I'm also not viewing it from the lens of money, idk why, it's just not the biggest allure to me. The ability to play a game is.

Edit: Kobe would have been a better example than Vick

That's a fantastic run of bad posting from the normally reasonable five4suited. These conversations just can't be had over the internet.

You're not laughing "near me;' you're laughing "at me."

Do you notice how I don't laugh at you or comment on anything you say or do without you first instigating? If not, think about it, or do a search, and you'll realize that it's true.

You brush this off as us "both posting for years" such that us getting into a spat every once in a blue isn't a big deal. To that I say, it wouldn't be, if there were moments of non-spat in between. But that illustrates the point. You don't EVER say anything positive about my posts or agree with things I said. If you did that, then you could laugh at me and I would think it's all in the game.

Now, you have no obligation to do such things. But let's face it, you don't do it because you don't like me, not because you literally disagree with everything I say. You just don't post when I say something you agree with or support, and wait until I say things that you can troll.

All of this is supported by the fact that we have history, and not positive history.

Minnesotasam, for example, probably doesn't like me either and certainly has trolled me plenty in the past. But we have moments of agreement/civility and it has never appeared to me that he goes out of his way to insult me just because he doesn't like me.

So yes, I think I am fully justified in my belief that you go out of your way to be derisive towards me. And you seem like a smart guy, but even on the internet forums, it's quite unbecoming.

You're assuming the following things:

1) You know what was in the head of a 14 year old whom you never met
2) That I tried to justify my feelings about this
3) That I'm white
4) That because I MIGHT be able to rationalize this, I can therefore rationalize anything
5) I am an untrustworthy person

Well, you know what happens when you assume.

Tbf, 5) is more of an inference than an assumption. Not a valid one in the slightest, but an attempt at an inference nonetheless.

I don't dislike you fwiw, there are very few people I dislike.

Luke Heimlich molested a 4-6 year old over two years, which is a class A felony in his state. He had to do some kind of program, register as a sex offender, and received a suspended sentence. So for all intents and purposes, he scarred a child for life and had little consequences until now.

As you said earlier you understand the business decision and it makes sense for the teams. While he was only 15, it must have been truly sickening for the victim and victim's family to see him in the spotlight like that prior to the exposure like nothing even happened. Apparently the family mostly sided with Luke and ostracized the victims too.

If some team takes a chance on him that's fine but I'm certainly not going to sympathize with him and think the "punishment" seems fine for his terrible crime

Without making a larger comment, these two things are contradictory fwiw. Registering as a sex offender in America is a massive punishment.

has baseball ever had an active gay baseball player before? because if not, Addison Russell may be our first. he posted a pic on his instagram not too long ago that looks a bit suspect.

Not really contradictory. It doesn't seem to have negatively affected him until now. This was able to stay under the radar for quite a bit publicly. I agree that in a vacuum it is a large punishment to register as a sex offender but it's justified by the crime and now with the publicity he will finally end up getting the consequences he deserves imo
