Is this made up?

That seems high.

There are only 2730 games per year (not counting playoffs or spring training).

That basically means 1/6th of all games were 6+ runs?

Still seems extremely high that 15% of games are decided by that many runs...

And the one was my White Sox last year.

Life sucks when your favorite sports teams score less points than their opponents.

The Mariners/Angels game today counts doesn't it or maybe they don't belong in the context of what he's talking about. Teams score runs in the 9th to make it a 5/4/3 run game and I assume those wins are included in that figure so I thought the topic was simply 6+ run leads entering the 9th not to end the game.

and yesterday = saturday

I wasn't trying to correct you. I didn't see your post before I posted. It doesn't matter 15% seems about right. Let's go back to making fun of the M's.

Inexplicably, Tim Tebow has homered twice in 3 minor league games.

Interesting fact that no player in the 90's stole more bases than Otis Nixon. I would've guessed Lofton or Henderson.

Looking it up, it's

Nixon 478
Henderson 463
Lofton 433

If anything could make me stop following baseball, it might be the Tebow narrative.

Why exactly Gary? Seems to be a symptom of how stupid our society is in general not necessarily MLB. Tebow taking a spot away from some average Joe trying to make the bigs is annoying but I'm sure we've all see worse in terms of people not deserving something. Mets are PR sluts especially when it makes them more covered than the Yanks.

Because 29-year olds who haven't played baseball in 12 years aren't good enough to play MLB, making it a waste of time even before you consider the circle jerk love fest over the guy. It's just garbage "news" and I'd rather hear about pretty much anything else. You're right, it's a societal symptom more than a baseball problem; celebrity culture gone way too far imo. The societal distinction doesn't make it any less annoying though.
