Cubs finally getting smart and sending Schwarber back down to Iowa. Get him out of the spotlight and let him figure out wtf is the issue.

not quite sure about nowadays, but in the ninetees /early 2000's when i used to buy caps and jackets from american sport teams, there were A LOT of Sox articles at any good sport shop. Yankees and Cleveland Indians as well (i mixed up Red Sox with Indians before). i don't remember any other baseball team that stood out or was even represented, but these 3 teams were huge.

They weren't in there (I assume) because they have a pretty tough division and they traded away last season, which generally means they're not expected to do amazing. Judge and Hicks are playing out of their minds though, and it's combined with the division not performing as well as last year.

But yeah, they're hated.

Holy ****, Schwarbs demoted to Iowa!

Lol, Sportscenter says, "this just one year after leading the Cubs to the World Series". Not exactly, guy!

Yep. It was clearly Dex Fowler.

So how good did the cubs run in the small sample of the WS that Schwarber hit like he did when coming back from injury and not like he is hitting this year (which is like someone coming back from a year long injury)
MLB Season Thread 2017 Quote

Not massively surprising, he's hitting like 170/300/350 or something.

Surprising though:

Since hitting that dramatic grand slam against the Cardinals on June 3, Schwarber has hit .205/.340/.545 (128 wRC+). Sure, the batting average is low, but that’s largely because he’s been killed by a ridiculously low BABIP – and everything else has been positive.

i see, thanks. that Judge dude looks like a killing machine damn.

He's getting BABIP'd to death this year, which isn't helping. Of course a lot of that is because he hits everything to the right side, right into the shift. He has almost exactly the same number of XBHs, BBs, & Ks as he did in 2015 in the same number of PAs, but can't get a single this year to save his life.

Is still see a bunch of White Sox hats, along with Yankees and Indians. Just today I saw a guy walk around in a Blue Jays shirt. But no one wearing those could name a player on the roster obv, it's just a fashion label pretty much. Same with NFL gear.

Excuse my ignorance of the internet...

Currently driving to San Diego for the weekend. Would like to listen the broadcast of the Dbacks game in about an hour. Obviously can't pick up local Phoenix stations. Any apps I can go through? I've thought about using my phone as a hot spot and finding a stream on my laptop, but I doubt my signal will stay strong enough. Any suggestions? Keeping in mind I have blackout issues the whole way I think.

Radio is never blacked out on the MLB At-Bat app.

With it being the game of the day today, should I be able to get the radio broadcast? I don't have a paid account on there.

Once you are outside the state you should be able to for MLB TV

Blackout Map:

And local AM stations pick up for quite a range. And you might be able to find it on a Yuma station once the Phoenix stations die out.

I've been 3 hours away in the East of the state and could still get 620.

Blah. Less than 2 hours into the drive and can't get 620. And the app won't let me listen without a paid subscription. Oh well. I'll keep searching. Thanks for the feedback.

Edit: a quick Google search gave me a list of radio affiliates. I'm set!

Astros are 10-0 in the 2nd against a team that just swept the yankees in a 4 game series. This will be a 4 game sweep for the Astros.

Is this a "The Yankees are who we thought they were" type thing?

Corey Knebel now has a K in 38 straight relief appearances, breaking the previous record set by Aroldis Chapman.

Correction: 38th straight game to begin a season, not as big of deal as I had initially thought.
