Don't understand how Stras can get more love than Kershaw. They are the same age (4 months apart if you wanna nit it up). Kershaw has no injury history and has no limitations and has already won the Cy young/pitching triple crown...

BOLDED is valid. As far as the second part, I have a feeling Phildo is gonna introduce you to xFIP and SIERA.

Strasburg has 650 less innings on his arm (for a bad reason)...so is that arm strong enough to produce long term?

Who the hell knows...

In this "redraft" I'd just take a young bat in the top 5 and not have to worry about Strasburg on my 2nd selection for he'd obv be gone

Re: MLB Regular Season Thread 2012

Literally every time that I watch Belt play (even when he does something really really bad like make an out) I get more confused about why he would ever voluntarily be left out of the lineup by a major league manager.

Bruce Bochy is a retard and has a rep of needing to put below average veterans in the lineup

Re: MLB Regular Season Thread 2012

yeah bochy totally doesn't have a long history of starting such superstars as aubrey huff and brett ****ing pill over belt at every opportunity.

and while blanco has been surprisingly not terrible this season i'm pretty sure if you can only play one of belt or blanco you're way better off with belt.

strasburg has been a lot better. i dunno enough about how pitchers recover from tommy john to be very sure about him though.

From what I've read, he played high school ball in New Jersey where there aren't a ton of scouts compared to warm weather areas, and it was a rainy season so there weren't many chances to get looks at him. It sounds like the Angels scouting department just kind of owned everyone.

Re: MLB Regular Season Thread 2012

Diamondbacks might be shopping Justin Upton, while struggling he still has top 5 upside in all MLB and is only 24 years old.

He's signed for 3 years at: 13:$9.75M, 14:$14.25M, 15:$14.5M, so obviously huge bargain.

What kind of massive ransom would Diamondbacks get for him?
