The Gulf Coast League and Arizona League will be testing something out this year, teams will start each extra inning with a runner at second base. They are considering implementating at the major league level at some point.

I'm not for it.

I think most non hardcore fans will like the rule, as it brings instant excitement/drama(even if manufactured), and, in theory, will keep games from dragging on for 18 innings.

Personally, I like the game the way it is and wish they'd quit ****ing with it to appease today's short attention span viewers. I've been to more NBA, NHL, and NFL games this season than I ever have, and while I do enjoy them, it gives me an even greater appreciation for the game of baseball(if that's even possible).

I think I'd be in favor of games ending in a tie after 2 extra innings. Maybe 2 isn't the right number, but it sounded good. As a baseball fan, I like extra innings, to an extent, but I hate what it does to the quality of play the following day, or the following week. Bullpens get completely spent, and players are exhausted after playing 15 innings late into the night on a Saturday, only to return for a 1:10 start on Sunday.

Big time players participating, especially pitchers, has been discouraged by agents, trainers, and FO's since its inception. Having a retired Doug Fister go out there against some Mexican no names in 4 years seems like the most likely scenario.

Yeah if the 10th inning starts with a man on 2nd then you can **** right off, especially in a playoff game. I'd be for it if the 12th+ started that way, because 15 inning games are pretty bad, especially when it's some relief scrub or Cliff Pennington heading out there for his 4th inning.

Watching a position player pitch or seeing a team burn a starter is great watching imo. West coast folks have to enjoy the east coast extra inning games too.
