Fantastic, I ask for elite breaking pitches and here they are a day later. Curve looked nice but the slider is fantastic. So depth! Much location! I'm guessing he'll mainly use the drop down vs same handed hitters but I was surprised that those righties really didn't seem to pick it up any better than the 3/4. Kyle it looked to my not terribly great eye that Dunn has good command not just control in that vid. Does he have avg or better command than the avg MLB pitcher? And if you don't wanna answer that's cool homie just pls keep up the vids

Ok since it just got mentioned and I've heard it a bunch on FG podcasts... Cliffs on what exactly people mean when they talk about depth and bite of breaking balls?

Depth would be how far it breaks

Having bite would be the opposite of being loopy. Bite is how sharp it is, how suddenly it happens to break.

Kyle can answer better or correct my mistakes but afaik depth is vertical break. And when you get it on a slider it is usually in conjunction w horizontal break equaling a movey ass pitch. Bite describes how vicious the pitch starts to move when it "breaks", normally bite is taking about curves and sliders but imo two seamers and sinkers can have bite too. So a bad curveball would have a loopy parabolic break and no bite but a PEDRO or Kimbrel curve seems to explode down and has great bite

does anyone not want the MLB to ban intentional walk pitches? I love the 1/1000 chance of crazy **** happening when the pitcher airmails one.

I agree. Wild pitches, stolen bases, unexpected swings at pitches that get too close, all happen occasionally during an IBB and are always hilarious. The impact on length of games would be neglible at best anyway. Do something about pitchers who take a minute between pitches or excessive mound visits before removing actual plays from the game imo.

I'm watching an MLB Network special on the 71 Pirates, so naturally we start off talking about Jackie Robinson and we even get some grainy footage of him legging out a three bagger. Where's the footage of him going deep goddamnit! Must be nice be one of the douchers from 2100 and when you grow up you actually get a sick detailed history of what a ****ing HORSE Mike Trout was, and I can't even see an MVP hit the ball out of the ballpark around here!!!

wait youre angry that theres not a treasure trove of high quality baseball footage from before 1960? well ****, now that you mention it, me too. at least we can watch PEDRO highlights to see how itd be if god focused full time on pitching
