Brutal news. Andy Marte died yesterday too in a separate crash.

Driving in the Dominican seems like something you don't want to do. No speed limits or no cops?

Everytime I've been in a taxi cab on a Caribbean island I've been scared for my life. Seriously.

Well that is horrible. 25 year olds are not supposed to die. Saw Yo pitch in person several times, including a world series win.

Two car accidents in the same place on the same day end up killing two MLB former/current players. That is really bizarre.

RIP

KyleB, what is your take on what Mike Marshall tried to do a few years ago, and is he still going strong with his methodology and pitching school. I believe the only major league player he had was Steve Sparks.

in a hypothetical scenario where the rockies sign weiters their batting order is:

1. blackmon
2. lemahieu
3. cargo
4. arenado
5. desmond
6. story
7. dahl
8. weiters

my good god that's loaded

I got the Rockies and Rays at 75/1. I don't know if that was a good price, but I am expecting to be rich in October.

Jeff Sparks. Also Rudy Seanez and one other guy for the Dodgers I keep forgetting.

Anyway, his stuff has some validity to it. My company is an homage to his term, Driveline, BTW.

I actually don't mind the Rockies as a dark horse bet. Their lineup is obv. pretty robust, and their young starters offer some hope.

Almost time for MLB PEEHS again!

I'm planning on doing most of the same questions again, with a few tweaks. Obv need to take the early-season BA and OPS questions from .315 and 1.000 to .290 and .950 or so.

The end of season WHIP question was missed by a lot of people because Kershaw came up 1 IP short of qualifying, but I still kinda liked the min. 150 IP.

Lower QS from 23 to about 20, lots of people missed that one.

And I think I'm going to remove the "can only pick the same player twice" rule, it kinda dilutes the punishment and affects the strategy for going chalk-y.

Any questions you guys loved or hated and want to see in the next installment?

I really dig the Mariners at 25/1. They made a ton of high upside under the radar moves that are getting completely lost in the shuffle

Smyly > Walker, Segura is a huge get even if you assume he drops off a little in safeco, dyson is big for their defense. Even gallardo is really a low risk reasonable upside get. As long as cano/Cruz don't fall of the face of the earth these are your ALW frontrunners

I like the Rockies at 75/1 only in the sense that that's an outrageous price for a team that should be in the WC game which makes them free money if you're down to hedge. But they aren't winning the NLW and I have no idea how they're supposed to win a bo5 or bo7 against the cubs
