If however, he was simply referring to some cultural difference that do appear to be true, then I get what he's saying and it could just be unfortunate that he didn't word it better. There are obvious cultural differences and it isn't necessarily bad to acknowledge them. Seems he's a bit bitter that many fans enjoy the more outwardly emotional tendencies of the latin players.

Looks like Carlos Delgado as a hitting coach for Puerto Rico. Man could that guy mash.

I like a little bit of "act like you've been there before", but at the same time I love seeing the fire. I don't need it in a solo first inning homer in May, but during WBC semifinals seems appropriate.

Blue Jays rotation might be pretty amazing in 2017...

PR's lack of DISCIPLINE a factor here.

Wow, Goldschmidt must really be horrible to never break the lineup over Hosmer.

It is true that Kris Bryant was the 2013 College Player of the Year, the 2014 Minor League Player of the Year, the 2015 National League Rookie of the Year and, while playing third base for the first world championship Chicago Cubs team in 108 years, the 2016 NL Most Valuable Player.

It is also true that two months after he secured the last out to clinch the Holy Grail of sports championships, Bryant, 25, married his high school sweetheart, a girl he met in freshman English class.

It is true that he earned all A’s in elementary, middle and high schools with the exception of one B—the result of an 89 average in high school precalculus. Such smarts earned Bryant the No. 2 academic ranking in his graduating class, which carried the honor of speaking at graduation as the salutatorian. Bryant instead yielded that honor to a classmate with a similar GPA, because he wanted her to have the recognition.

It is true that the 6'5'', blue-eyed Bryant is so handsome that he is the rare baseball player to be an out-of-uniform spokesperson. (Clothing retailer Express hired him as a model.)

Yelich has a sweet stroke. When he grows in to his body he will be top 3 in MVP votes.

Did Goldschmidt play? Guess the Dbacks should trade him for Hosmer.

I am so glad Kinsler said what he said. Maybe now more players will start being passionate and start celebrating achievements without fear of getting one to the dome. Kinsler is right, obviously the DR and PR teams are more passionate and emotional when they do something good. That's the culture that they grew up in. Americans are pretty boring, and baseball is kind of boring. If the regular season games could catch that type of buzz, watch out baby! Baseball is back!

I don't think he meant to be offensive... it's just bad wording, like you said. "As opposed" was poor phrasing.

I'm sure Puerto Rico loved seeing Kinsler play such a pivotal role in the U.S. win.

That 1B, Tommy Joseph, hit 21HR in 315ABs last year with .815 OPS. This is the first I've seen of him. Maybe the NL east will be tougher than expected and that 93o for the Nats is not going to happen.
