Got to give Lebron credit he stepped up tonight and hit the big shots. What can you say. I still think that if he ever went back to Cleveland and won a title he would solidify a legacy that would surpass probably every athlete ever.

For the decade definitely. Labron is the best player of his generation. Then in 10 years the next MJ and Labron will come along and everyone will declare him the goat.

No need for MJ fans to be butthurt. Just how things go.

The guy is 28, with 4 MVPS, 2 Finals MVPs, 4 Final Appearances in the modern era. He could play 10-12+ more years. Yes, recency bias, but we haven't ever seen anything like this.

what exactly did MJ miss out on? and are you certain he wasn't "incentivized" to return? (somewhat compensating for the 2 years of mid-career salary I assume has something to do with your proclamation)

it's not like the endorsements ever stopped.
If he skipped college, didn't go play baseball, and didn't have the semi-retirement after title #6 then he might've had a reasonable shot at beating Russell's number of rings.

I said before itt that I'm not sure Lebron is a favorite to age as incredibly well as Jordan did, and so he probably is not a favorite to retire as the GOAT. But after tonight he certainly has a better start to his career

Lebron has continually modified his game. Not worried about him aging at all at this point.

I mean, when the athleticism goes he simply becomes a full-time pf who will absolutely destroy in the high post.

I mean, he's probably the most athletic pure athlete of all time, but he's also just so damn well rounded skill-wise to imagine him not being a hugely positive player even in the twilight of his career.

Yup. pretty dumb to say Labron will not age well outside of his hairline.

let me make this clear. I think Lebron will age very well and will continue to be a great player for many years. But there's a lot of space between "great player" and Jordan's late years. He's certainly capable of doing it, I'm not sure I'm comfortable saying he's a favorite to do it.

Jordan started fading at 34. Only 7 years away. Malone actually aged better than Michael.

Also should be an excellent spot up three point shooter. He's got that skill now.

Yeap. People don't give him enough credit for this. He's been working on that shot for years and clocked 40% 3p% in 2013.

LeBron needs EITHER a legit 5 so he could play more of a 1/2 combo role or a legit PG so he could just play his natural 3/4.

Wade and Bosh just take up too much of the space LeBron operates in. Bosh has been deferring and playing like an SG a lot, hurting his own numbers, but Wade just sits there blocking LBJ's lane way too often.

As weird as this sounds people are drastically underrating LeBron's basketball IQ and overall handling abilities when they say he won't age well. He could still be by far the best player in the league for a good majority of his 30s.

LeBron is arguably the best PG, SG, SF, PF, and maybe center too. There is literally nothing he can't do in this game of basketball.

Except maybe he could learn to shoot left handed.

That way he doesn't have to drive right and won't care if wade's in that space.

i did not say he won't age well. And it's perfectly possible that I'm still underrating him

hes actually pretty great at shooting left handed layups and floaters. free throws not really.

he was skinny when he got to the bulls after three years in college, skipping it wasn't an option. he could have been one and done but wasn't a consensus all-american until his second season, so let's say he came out then. (2nd team all-am in 83 & 84? john paxson)

that's one extra year. he lost a year to injury. two more for baseball and at least one more after 98.

there's no way they would've won 11 straight. and that's assuming he ends up on the bulls coming out a year earlier.
