You really can't say. LBJ's peak isn't even over yet. He's got another 5 years before he starts to fade imo. At the moment, it's a toss-up. You could make a case for both without being laughed at.

this is why its a silly debate. lebron is freaking 28. if he keeps up this career arc then yeah there's certainly a good chance he surpasses jordan. his peak is definitely right in jordans neighborhood. but whether he has the teammates to get the titles and the luck to avoid injuries etc no one knows, and one will know till it's all said and done in another 10 years, and by then people will be debating lebron (or jordan) vs someone else.

MJ had the will to win at all costs. Lebron had the will to make it as easy as possible.

Who has the better career has to be a part of the discussion. Thats one of the things about MJ. He had the stats, dominance, star power, and career. That's what makes a GOAT, the complete package. Look at the GOAT of all the major US sports. They all have the complete package.

SA was an underachiever before TD. They had never won a title. Their coach had never won a title. They could not win with Rodman and Robinson. TD brought them to the next level. HE makes everyone around him better. LBJ somehow seems to make Bosh and Wade worse.

Basketball is a team game. One of the criteria to be the GOAT basketball player is you have to be the best player on one of the great teams of your generation.

It might be possible to be the best baseball player and be on bad teams. Though i'm not sure how it would effect your star power and the ability to judge how you perform under pressure of big games. A Rod was considered by many to be the best baseball player in the majors until he joined the Yanks. Since he joined the Yanks, his inability to perform in the playoffs had hurt his status.

This is a nice story. Really Lebron is making Wade worse? LOL, seriously? Wade is first of all hurt. Second of all, Wade is older and wasn't going to age well. Bosh is struggling b/c of his new role and that he is playing out of position versus a giant. This was the risk the Heat had if they played a big team, they need a true 5 when they play a team like the Pacers.

The reason the Spurs win has a ton to do with Duncan, it also has a ton to do with how well the rest of the organization is. Do you really feel Duncan is responsible for making TP and Manu that much better? Give me a break. Agreed in general. His career is not over and that's a big thing when trying to compare longevity and the argument is somewhat premature (but where would us armchair critics be then???). But just because he hasn't achieved it yet doesn't mean he is not a better player.
